Now that YouTube has started complying with COPPA on January 6, videos of cartoons such as Steven Universe and Infinity Train, as well as some fan-made MLP content have all their comments turned off. Also, whenever I stream YouTube on my phone, it shows a heads up saying, "Miniplayer is off for videos made for kids. Tap play to resume." It means that I can't play kid-friendly videos whilst searching for other videos to watch. That's just great. YouTube viewing experience is now being restricted and I have a feeling it's gonna get worse in the future.
If you haven't heard about it, here's a video that explains all that. It unsurprisingly has 2,700 likes and 13,000 dislikes.
YouTube is just shooting themselves in the foot now, this time there's no rewind to undo their mistake. With their faulty and shitty "AI" there gonna be trouble either way.
Seen this coming for years, but not in the form it's taken. Really sucks, as a number of people I've subscribed to over the years have been kicked off, stopped doing content, or have become rather bland to appease the algorithm.
