Royal Journal Entry,
Lord Arc came to visit Fiona and I today. His presence always seems to fill our hearts with hope! Not sure if that's due to all he's done for us, or if it's just part of who he is.
As luck would have it, he's currently visiting our neighbors. While they have been a necessary evil to us for as long as anyone can remember, times have changed in that regard. Again, in thanks to Lord Arc, we're now on the road to being self-sufficient in providing food for our citizens. Perhaps one day we'll be strong enough to challenge the griffons! Maybe even subjugate THEM for a change! While I wouldn't mind enslaving them, I'm sure the queen would vehemently oppose such action. Perhaps even Lord Arc himself would intervene. I shudder to consider facing him on the fields of battle.
While I've considered the griffon's fall as necessary for our continued survival, I'm having difficulty justifying their downfall ethically. Can I really commit genocide in the name of my nation's safety? Arc's griffon companion, Natalya I believe her name was, seemed so... polite. Respectful even! Should I invade, she and others like her would surely die!
I will have to give this matter significantly more thought.
