Dear Journal,
Went to see the promotion ceremony. Lord Gestal and his prissy daughter were there. Was glad to find Lord Arc in attendance. The other two aren't much for conversation. He made a rather... interesting bet on Footpad Natalya however. She won, as did he!
At first I thought it was just beginner's luck. Or maybe he was doing it for her father, or something. That is, until I saw him bet an insane amount on her second round! I mean, the chances of him losing were almost absolutely certain! I felt at the time that he must have some kind of inside knowledge on the fight! While I watched, it did not appear her rival was going easy on her. Quite the opposite actually! The Trainer appeared to be putting everything they had into the fight! The outcome however WAS quite the surprise! A slight injury of an unconscious party isn't unheard of. But losing a tail is quite the sign of failure! Especially to an officer! I'll have to send congratulations to the new lieutenant!
It appears I was wrong about her. Perhaps this Lieutenant Natalya could prove useful to me and my... allies.
It's all well and good to do your best to achieve a goal. Just be mindful of those around you whom could be caught up.
