My favorite films seen in 2023.

My favorite films I've watched in 2023.

    1. The Philadelphia Story (1940) - When a rich woman's ex-husband and a tabloid-type reporter turn up just before her planned remarriage, she begins to learn the truth about herself. (This movie has a very good cast. I very much enjoyed seeing this.)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

And the song I am going to link you all is a holiday tune, but that season is close enough.

101 Horror Movies - Part One.

I picked up a book titled "101 Horror Movies You Must See Before You Die" yesterday. I will break up my thoughts into a series of posts.
The book is set up by decades, so today I’ll cover every film it mentions from before the 1930s. (The copyright of the book is 2009.)

    The 1910s and 1920s:

Still salty about Cozy Glow · 12:50am Oct 15th, 2019

I was ranting to friends that didn't know anything about MLP and figured I'd share it here.

I do have one thing that's been bugging me since Saturday. In Season 8 MLP introduced a new character named Cozy Glow. She's a pegasus filly. Turns out she was the Big Bad of Season 8, because she was a Chessmaster trope. Now, when defeated, did they send a non-magic using pegasus to the MLP equivalent of juvenile hall? Or a place for troubled kids? (That's another thing. I love the show, but they really tripped up with her. The stated motivations were weak and she had no backstory. Did she have a troubled upbringing? Was she abused? No idea! Anywa, no they sent this child (in MLP terms) to their equivalent of Hell (Tartarus is the name). So, turns out the big villain story for this final season (Season 9) was to have Cozy Glow brought back along with two other much older, much more established villains. Anyway, the good guys ended up winning and once again with a filly, there was no, try to redeem her...nope she got encased in stone with the other two villains. Theoretically still alive but soul trapped with the other two forever. Just, come on, Hasbro and MLP!

Honestly, I don't understand why people complain so much about her. I mean, sure, a backstory is always a good things, but other than that? For me, the way she acts is that of a sociopath child who always got what she wanted. She wants power the same way children wants toys, sweets and stuff. She wants, because she wants - like any spoiled brat. Add to that the apparent high level of intelligence, cuteness factor, and manipulation skills, and you have quiet a nice villain.

And, I know that we live in an age where everyone should have some deep motivation, but realistically speaking, through the ages people very often wanted power for the sake of power and nothing else. As cliche as it sounds, this motivation is old as dirt and still going strong, and will probably be going strong till the end of the world.
