A Random Spark · 1:43pm Sep 29th, 2019
Okay, just read the first three chapters of Tieberius Void-Walker's story S.A.R.A.H., a very interesting piece so far, and it sparked an idea which I doubt I will ever be able to use as it was definitely not where I was intending things to go with my The Fractured story and its eventual companion piece.
Nevertheless, I'll put the idea here.
It would be a story set far after The Fractured and would need a world in which Selene is justified in reaching the ultimate point of her prosthesis development, that of an artificially created pony, powered by the latent magic of the world using the crystals in the story. Can see it as a post-apocalypse world, so would need a catalyst for that, as I can envision this pony walking a barren world and encountering more war-like versions of itself.
The biggest problem I see for it, though, is it would require Selene to lose all of her loved ones. A difficult prospect through natural attrition considering the ending of The Fractured. And yet, I can also see this artificial pony as Selene's true child in a way, possibly with some personality traits from Pyrus and Aria mixed in. Maybe it goes on a journey and finds Selene as a way of finding its place in the world? I don't know.
Just a random spark I felt like sharing. Thank you Tieberious Void-Walker for the bit of inspiration you and your story sparked even if I can't easily use it. It is still something interesting to ponder.
Tael.
You're welcome, I'm just glad I was able to be a muse to someone
Also haven't read The Fractured but the idea itself is very interesting

My non-pony pieces of late have been science fiction in nature. S.A.R.A.H. resonated strongly with that in me.
The Fractured is more science fantasy than the science fiction concept sparked in this blog. It is also yet to be fully fixed. It will be, just not yet. Its as yet unwritten companion piece is also mostly fantasy based so the idea you sparked for me was a surprise.
Thank you for sharing S.A.R.A.H. with everyone.
