    We need more Sun-Pie

Sunset x Pinkie is honestly criminally underrated and I wanna see more stories with them together as just friends, dating or married because my God they are adorable and hilarious together.

    Expanding the dazzlings

While the dazzlings seemingly work best as a trio I can't help but wonder what things would be like for them if they had other talented musicians in their ranks that could do things other than sing. Follow me?

    Adagio is the lead singer/vocalist

Aria and Sonata harmonize and provide back up vocals.

    Shadowbolt/crystal prep redemption

I feel like there is a lot of conceptual gold laying in this but it hasn't been explored as much.

For example something I would do after having the shadowbolts form a friend group, they are introduced to two new girls

    Starlight glimmer and Moondancer

Moondancer being a parallel to twilight

Starlight being a parallel to sunset

    Update

Yes I know it has been awhile. A lot has gone on and I've been taking my time adjusting but every time I turn around something else happens. Currently working as many hours as I can during the week which leaves me often times mentally and physically exhausted. I have had the urge in the past few weeks I would say to get back into writing and with my birthday and Halloween coming up the muse is a

Passing of Legacy(MINOR SPOILERS FOR SERIES FINALE) · 3:13pm Aug 26th, 2019

You know something that I have always found strange? The princess titles in the Equestrian world. Example; Twilight is Princess of Friendship however it would seem that in the series finale she is left to rule ALL of Equestria alone. To raise the sun and the moon all on her own. To govern all of that power and the creatures of the world as the objectively strongest and most gracious being there is. Yet she has to do it all alone?

To get back on track what I mean to bring up is; Why does Celestia have the right or reason it seems to pick a successor but Luna does not? I would think Luna would want somepony to take her place as guardian of the dream realm unless that is just something she will do in her retirement with Celestia. I don't exactly know the fates of everypony however the ones i do know of are either alright or a bit underwhelming in my humble opinion. Personally I feel that Luna should have picked and trained up Starlight Glimmer as her successor so she could rule Equestria alongside Twilight.

Also I am SUPER salty Sunset doesn't get a chance to return home but I guess that's fine if she stays in the human world and lives out her life there as long as she is happy.

In haven't seen the final episodes yet, but from what I have seen and gleaned, this restructuring of power does seem to disrupt the balance of things.

Everything in the lore of this show has been about balance and harmony. To put it all in the hooves of a single pony seems to go against that.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I would have preferred, and it would have made more sense, for the sisters to step down as supreme ruler in favor of Twilight and they stick around in a lesser capacity. They still govern the day and night, and act as support/advisors. This way, balance is still achieved and they're given a bit more free time to do what they want.

Or, they could find actual successors to their powers and not almost literally elevate Twilight to the status of deity.

Pony politics makes no sense...

As for Sunset Shimmer, I'm just happy to hear she makes an appearance.

I would be fine with Twilight being a deity if she aint have to rule by herself. If your gonna have the element of magic be immortal the same should apply to the other elements or it should be like a one for all or avatar thing; where when one element dies they are reincarnated into the next generation of pony's or even other creatures. So long as they are worthy to wield one of the elements

5111923
I kinda like the avatar thing. Where each element is reincarnated in a cycle to each pony tribe.

5111931
That way it could ensure the elements always live on. The same could apply to Celestia and Luna's power over the moon and Cadence's magic of love. It could all be put into a cycle of reincarnation. But because 'it's a kids show' they won't explore that.

I....saw the mane 6 in the finale...……..twilight DOES outlive her friends the m6 were old and rarity has grey in her mane Hasbro did say twilight would not outlive her friends...…..they were kinda right in the SHOW she does not outlive her friends...….but from raritys applejacks rainbow dash pinkie pie and fluttershy's appreance…..they will eventually die leaving spike and twilight the only ones left

"it's just a kid's show"

I hate that excuse. It's the reason I never cared much for much of the shows that aired when I was a kid. Just because it's for kids (or your just trying to sell toys), doesn't mean you don't have to be thoughtful about your storylines. In the end, no one is going to care about branded pieces of formed plastic. Everyone will care about the stories.

Oh well, I guess it's all up to fan theories from here.

5111974
Trust me I know how you feel. It's the biggest reason Long Road to Friendship is my favorite story ever written about EG or MLP(when it gets to that crossover point the author mentioned) because it feels like a genuine attempt to focus on the story and not branding or marketing toys. Like in the final episode from what I managed to see? The big final battle is nothing special, the epilouges for the mane 6, Starlight and others don't exactly wrap up in the best manner and the final design for Twilight is just...Off.

Like seriously I don't get why because this was a kids show that it had to be so toned down. Yeah it was a show about magical creatures and friendship and stuff but that doesn't mean you can't expand your world some. I feel they tried to do a lot of big world building a bit too late in the series and now a lot of things are a jumbled mess.

Like seriously Twilight is a full on princess who rules the entire land but she's all by herself? Like do her friends act as her advisers? What happened to her castle in ponyville? Does she visit Sunset anymore? What happened to Cadence and Shining Armor and Flurry Heart? Will Twilight outlive her friends or not?

Theres a lot of unanswered questions and I feel it's all because they tried to simply make it a kids show and wouldn't allow some themes to be explored. Like Applejack's parents being dead or the lives of the mane 6 as kids before they became young adults. Romance was never touched on much(understandably so but still!)

I just hope a large part of this wasn't just Hasbro saying: "We need this to end so we can start up our next toyline. Just finish it some way that won't lose us money."

Like seriously I don't get why because this was a kids show that it had to be so toned down. Yeah it was a show about magical creatures and friendship and stuff but that doesn't mean you can't expand your world some.

You mean like The Last Airbender? and, subsequently Legend of Korra? I haven't seen Adventure Time or Steven Universe, so I can't comment on them.

I feel they tried to do a lot of big world building a bit too late in the series and now a lot of things are a jumbled mess.

Yeah, I felt that they tried way too hard with the movie. It was great seeing lands outside Equestria. But it tried being so many things and, in the end, I just found the whole thing very unfocused.

Theres a lot of unanswered questions and I feel it's all because they tried to simply make it a kids show and wouldn't allow some themes to be explored.

I'll make a final verdict when I finally watch the episodes, but it seemed to me that, for the most part, Hasbro played things very safe (compare to such shows as Avatar and Adventure Time). As a result, they heavily sacrificed the show's full potential.

Heck, even Equestria Girls was underutilized. It could have easily been a darker show aimed towards teens and tweens who, maybe found ponies a bit too childish, but still loved the world-building and themes of the parent show. And, for a while, it looked like it may go in that direction. But Hasbro treated it like "I have no idea what to do with this."

5112037
Agreed. It feels like they was just like "Well its aimed as little kids and SOME tweens watch it and a fraction of the show are also adults so I GUESS we have to have something for everyone but make sure it can sell toys and also make sure it doesnt piss off the helicopter moms"

Like seriously they allow Bon-Bon and Lyra to get married; basically off screen. Same deal with Pinkie Pie(Happy for her)

It's like if you are gonna do these things at least have their be a pay off that everyone can enjoy and look back on the series as a whole and say it was a good ride all the way

Though, it seems to me that more adults were invested in it than the kids.

It's the last episode. Seriously what are you gonna do? Threaten to cancel? For crying out loud, Adventure Time had a lesbian kiss in their finale.

It's like if you are gonna do these things at least have their be a pay off that everyone can enjoy and look back on the series as a whole and say it was a good ride all the way

I think a good portion of it was there's only so much you can put a script, so many storylines needed to be completed in the background. Not saying it's ideal, but can still be effective.

5112051
Fair enough. I still love the show and what they have created I just wish I was done better you know? Like they could have had this be something really special but this finale just seems super rushed and underwhelming.

5111971

they will eventually die leaving spike and twilight the only ones left

Though, if my calculations hold up, and she remains the human world, Sunset will end up being Twilight's last living pony friend of that generation, finally passing away after about 246 years, Equestrian time.

5112056
On the bright side, at least this got a proper finale.

Unlike Equestria Girls.

5112061
Equestria girls got shafted so fucking hard. They didn't even get a full series. Just a bunch if shorts that are less than 10 mins each -_- Not nearly as many songs, no real 'fights' not a lot of world building, a good half of it is ship baiting. like ugh who the fuck was in charge of all this?!

5112066
Not someone who cared enough, apparently. Which sucks hard for those on the project who really were invested and wanted the series to succeed.

5112070
I know. Like seriously I will say it again; long road to friendship and spectacular seven should be the canon events that happen. Because they make so much sense and are topics anyone can get into and enjoy.

5112073
well I don't think g4 is done quite just yet from what I heard in dr wolfs hello pinkie pie animation discussion the 2021 movie is rumored according to a Hasbro or a independent source representative that has to do with the 2021 movie is said to "bridge the gap " between g4 and g5 so that could mean several things 1. it could mean that is how long we have to wait for the new series
2. the movie with have both g5 and g4 characters due to the fact their is a rumor that the g5 has a world tree hub realm that connects to other realms like the pegasi and maybe the dragonlands and one of these worlds is g4 so in theory it could lead to conflict with the g4 m6 who keep solving friendship problems and saving equestria from threats due to the g4 mane 6's experience causing the g5 m6 to feel jealous and inadequate leading to a eventual team up of both generations to stop a threat that threatens both generations. 3. the movie takes place BETWEEN g4 and g5 which would be events that lead up from the end of g4 to the beginning of g5 meaning the concept redesigns of the mane 6 of which there were rumors of a reboot were just that …...rumored concepts, of which I believe until I hear otherwise from Hasbro making an official release statement or announcement im going to treat the designs AS concepts and not the actual product until then we have for the moment have the rest of g4 whats left of equestria girls s2 then the new hello pinkie pie series and whatever else they have planned to hold us off until g5 arrives, I mean I don't think that Hasbro would make us wait until 2021 although season 1 of friendship is magic from what I recall didn't start till late 2010 to early 2011 so that means we have two protentional release dates …...they will release the series LATE 2020 to early 2021 like they did with friendship is magic sometime or around April 2020 as they've been doing, and ill hopefully start watching the new series when it comes out not start watching the series 4 years later down the line and missing the fun and learning about earlier episodes due to fanfics and YouTube fanvids and fan animations and comic dubs and I think it was bronies react to equestria girls ( the first one and technically the first my little pony friendship movie to be shown in theaters) is when started getting into it and watching the season 4 teasers ( the ones of the mane 6 's cutie marks in the friendship castle ) then started with twilights kingdom I found out about earlier episodes, which due to fanfictions that followed s1 to equestria girls first movie . one that I enjoyed was a human that ended up in equestria as a pony who was antisocial and had a mental disability who secretly loved twilight sparkle and eventually ends up in a relationship with her throughout the fic following some events staying true to the series with slight changes to the series equestria girls movies and specials and finally the current arc with the actual mlp the movie and hasn't been updated since last year. so I already know what happens so I felt there was no need to watch them although I did see s1 ep 1 and 2 only so other than that im thinking that I don't think friendship is magic is done just yet...at least we still have the comics which will might just keep going until they are no longer profitable.
