Journal Entry - Volume 6 - Chapter 8 · 1:01pm Aug 25th, 2019

Dear Diary,

I met the strangest creature today. Apparently he's our nation's new Hero of Light, but... I've never seen anything like him before! He walks on his hind legs and doesn't have hooves! I... I was a bit frightened of him, but... he convinced me of his intentions and talked to me. The Hero of Light, Arc, is actually a very personable individual. I'd always heard they were rather cold and calculating.

In any case, he wanted to talk to me about my sister Tempest. It sounds like she's in pretty big trouble right now! I told Arc everything he wanted to know. Not because I don't care about my sister, but because I get the feeling he'll be merciful when he finds her. She's served this land for many years, and deserves a chance to explain herself before being sent to prison, after all.

That bill collector came by while he was here. Arc answered the door himself. I thought the stallion was going to have a heart attack when he saw the Hero of Light towering over him! While I don't understand why, he paid my debt and cleared my slate. Perhaps for telling him about Tempest?

He then started asking about the state of the area. I told him about the recession, the lack of work and the lack of money in the area. However, when I told him about the Baltimare Courthouse, he seemed fairly upset! Asking me to show him the way to the courthouse, he and I jumped on his... um... mount, I guess, and ran to the familiar building. As we approached the entrance, the Elite Guards barred our entry. Worried that he would not be allowed entry, Arc teleported us inside. Heading for the Records Room, he was approached by two elite guards who attempted to stop him. Without slowing down, he... dispatched them.

Entering the room, he quickly ordered his steed to block the door. I hurriedly showed him some of the evidence against the High Justice! Needless to say, he was furious! Effortlessly forcing his way past the guards, we returned to the Main Hall and were attacked by the leader. Arc knocked him away and proceeded to the High Justice's chambers. I don't know what was said in there, but... I head a lot of yelling and things breaking.

I... it's nice that somepony was willing to stand up to High Justice Hawthorne and us bottom-rung ponies. We don't usually have a voice in... anything really. Maybe things will change with the judge in custody. That is... unless someone just as corrupt as he is replaces him!

Thank you, Hero of Light Arc. Thank you for rescuing us from Judge Hawthorne. While I know you will never read these words, please know this. No matter what happens, you will always have a friend in Baltimare!

When you see injustice, say something! Don't hope that someone else will, as we're all someone else... to someone else.
