BronyCon Day 1: LineCon 19! · 4:23am Aug 3rd, 2019
Yes, I know I know this is a day late! But hey, I was super tired the other night, so I opted to get some z’s. Day 2 was super fun, so this didn’t get posted till *looks at clock* Ok technically day 3 but whichever.
I look back on this day once more from the hotel room, tonight trying to ignore the rock concert/musical bombardment raging outdoors. Last night was less than restful, so I am hoping to catch up on some sleep tonight.
Today was an interesting day. I was very happy to see RobbC, Present Perfect, Admiral Biscuit, OldenBrony and everyone else at Quills & Sofas again. It’s really nice to be able to hang out with you guys!
Some of the panels for today were a bust. This was mainly due to massive lines that BronyCon is infamous for, which this last year seem to be compounded by a lack of organization born from underestimated attendance. While I don’t think the attendance is anything like it used to be, a lot more people than have been in recent years have showed up for the final con and it has definitely swamped the staff. At least, that’s my day one impression.
I was going to play a game of Tales of Equestria but it was completely booked for the 3pm game and I didn’t feel like watching other people play. I am however a DM in that system and I am interested in getting a game started with other people from FiMFiction at indefinite future point. If you are interested I’ll PM you here and then I will try and start planning the game schedule wise.
I enjoyed the writing panels on foundations in fanfics, and also on writing children. I did think that the later could have covered more ground though, I’d be interested in how to write children and families that didn’t fit the typical nuclear mold. The foundations panel was interesting too, got me thinking about some things I don’t usually think about.
The highlight of the day was actually probably our run on the dealer hall, once we finally got in. I managed to pick up a trio of adorable G2s to add to my collection. There were some things I intend to come back later for too, I have got to get a print from the Japan Pony Convention guys. We also ran into and chatted with NewGreyMare, which was great. I jokingly call her OGM’s dealer!
Anyhow it was great to see everypony again and I hope tomorrow is even more fun than today.
