Social media and smartphones. · 2:07pm Jul 30th, 2019
As technology advances it changes society and how we do things like shopping, communication, gaming etc. I'm not just noticing this but It's been on my mind for a while. I'm just thinking like.... almost nobody really communicates with each other now in person. I feel like my family has became so detached from each other as time went on. There's been moments where we would go to a family member's house, be it my aunt's or grandma's house for example, and they'll all be just awkwardly be swiping up on their phones all day at the table, or wherever and because of that, I kinda feel like i'm losing that mutual connection with them, And it's not just my family, two friends that I have do it a lot too.
Look, I get that smartphones makes are lives easier, more secure. But what's the point if we're going to just do our own things at whoever's house. It kinda defeats the point of visiting people or family. Not to contradict myself But yeah... I confess to doing it too. It's something that we notice but don't really do anything about. Sometimes I feel like people are more interested about their FB or Twitter likes and followers more than hanging out and bonding with whoever's with them at the time. And more eccentrically, my parents are actually more obsessed about social media than I am.....
Agreed.
I have to agree to an extent, I'd prefer a good face to face talk once in a while.
