Little Disney theory I came up with

What if The Lion King and Tarzan are set in the same universe? Both movies take place in Africa, just in different sections. There may not be evidence to back this theory up but it could be plausible.

Thoughts about The Lion King 2019 · 1:27pm Jul 25th, 2019

Hi, everyone. I just saw the new Lion King and I just want to express my own opinion on the film.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually really enjoyed the film. I definitely agree that the photo-realism heavily restricted the characters from showing any facial expressions other than anger, but I honestly wasn’t THAT bothered by it. I could still feel emotion coming from the characters and as laughable as Mufasa’s death looked, I legit shed a few tears while watching Simba try to wake him up.

Every scene with Timon and Pumbaa was pure gold and I honestly think Billy Eischner (if I spelled that wrong, my bad) and Seth Rogen nailed their roles. Sure, they can never deliver the same amazing performances Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella did, but I could see that Billy and Seth really put in all of their heart and soul in this project. I will confidently say that Billy and Seth made these characters their own.

I really like how most of the songs from the original version made it into the movie. It shows that despite the obvious fact Jon Favreau favored realism over fantasy, he wanted to stay close to the source material as best as he can.

The Lion 2019 will never be as great as the 1994 version, but honestly it isn’t nearly as bad as most people are claiming it to be. I had a good time watching the film and I would definitely go see it again in theaters.

In spite of my dislike for how much of a retread this film is, I do agree that, from what I heard (I haven't actually seen the movie and I don't plan to), it did have some good moments. From what I've heard in the trailers, I really think the voice actors did a good job, especially for Timon and Pumbaa, and young Simba. I'm still on the fence with Donald Glover as adult Simba, but what can I say? I grew up on Matthew Broderick.

I’m planning on seeing it at some point and reviewing it, despite not having much of a good feeling about it.

I thought it was decent, though I only wish Be Prepared was extended and some lines were redubbed.
