Dinky Hooves continues to show herself to be both a prodigy and a thorn in my side! Many of the worms have asked for more food for others over the years. However, she was the first to ever have a logical reason behind it! She spoke of leadership getting more for success! I was so impressed by her answer that for the first time EVER I granted such a request! Maybe I'm just getting soft in my age! It wasn't that long ago I would have slapped a worm for speaking that way to me!
If I can just figure out what motivates Dinky, perhaps I can steer her onto a better path! One that will show her the foolishness of what she's been taught! My years of experience tell me that her parents raised her in a loving home! But love and kindness are of little use in this dark and dangerous world! Perhaps one day when she is old enough to enter the military academy I will have been able to ween out such idiotic thoughts from her small mind! If all goes well, her mind will be ready for new teachings in a year or so. I'll give her special training that will help her to be all she can be! Hunting, killing, stalking, planning... these skills with be of paramount importance for her in the days to come!
If I fail... if I am unable to protect this land, she may even prove a valuable successor! I know it's risky to put all my proverbial eggs in one basket, but there really isn't anypony else who has shown such promise... EVER! I must watch my basket... my, backup plan... VERY CAREFULLY!
