Journal Entry - Volume 3 - Chapter 18 · 9:30pm Jun 9th, 2019
Dear Journal,
We awoke early the next morning and prepared to return to Ponyville. Cherry showed me to the basement and allowed me to place a sigil down there. After placing said sigil, I turned back to her. She... um... the way she looked at me was... really sweet! Considering I had essentially turned down the most beautiful mare in town, I figured she would have been none too happy! We embraced and... and she kissed my cheek! No one has ever done that before! It felt... nice. Cherry... why? Why do you care about me so much?!
We returned to the main level to gather the others and return to Ponyville. Stepping onto the sigil, I teleported us back to Derpy's house. Getting back to the matter of the strange energy, I decided to head over to Twilight's library and see if she could tell us anything. Applejack came by a few minutes later with Apple Bloom and Twilight examined both her and Dinky. Not sensing anything, she was most puzzled when Ember and I told her we could sense something! Derpy returned from the bathroom with Dinky and let Apple Bloom hold her. Doing so seemed to allow the filly to feel the power inside Dinky, which had grown!
Lacking any other ideas, Twilight suggested something called the Elements of Harmony. Apparently they're not only the most powerful thing in the land, but Twilight and her friends are the only ones who can use them! I could feel their power as the emerged from their place under the floor. Apple Bloom and Dinky's power... it was very similar! It isn't much, but we at least have a clue now!
Applejack allowed me and Derpy to take Apple Bloom with us to observe the pair. We headed to the hospital and had Doctor Horse examine both of them. Dinky was normal all across the board. However Apple Bloom's blood work had magiplasts in it! They're supposed to help unicorns cast spell! Why an Earth Pony has them is beyond him!
Finding nothing else of note, we took the young fillies to the park as a reward for being so brave at the hospital. They played as Derpy, Ember and I talked with Twilight's friends. A short time later Apple Bloom walked over with Dinky. She said she felt the same power coming from another filly! It turns out the filly in question was actually Rarity's sister, Sweetie Belle! Three cases and no answers! This can't go on! Rarity let me take her sister home with me for a bit of a slumber party with Apple Bloom and Dinky. I really don't know what else to do! Hopefully we'll find some answers soon!
