Journal Entry - Volume 3 - Chapter 13

Dear Journal,

We all got a good night's rest and left the castle to catch the train back to Ponyville. Things were all well and good... until Captain Decimus showed up! For some reason he insisted that Ember be taken into custody! I didn't know WHAT his problem was, and frankly didn't care! Princess Cadance left her in my care, and he wasn't going to take my friend away from me! Especially after what he did to her the last time! We verbally sparred for a few moments, but I could pretty much tell I wasn't going to be able to talk us out of this one! Even so, I was quite surprised when the captain charged at me! But it did give me a chance to show him I wouldn't take his crap! I think the little swim I sent him on was ample enough of a message.

Anyways... we returned home to Ponyville and headed to Sugarcube Corner for a bit of a snack and so I could outline my first mission as the Hero of Light! Ember flew to get Derpy as I ordered us some snacks. As I told the group of my idea, I knew they wouldn't be pleased. However, I wasn't counting or Derpy herself insisting on coming along! We planned to head out tomorrow and the meeting broke up.

I decided to check in on Cherry and Ruby at the hospital. Cherry's condition was improved greatly! Taking out my key to Derpy's house, I gave it to Ruby so she could stay nearby while we were gone. As expected, she and Ruby weren't too pleased to hear of my destination. With any luck, I'll be back in time to escort them both home! Hopefully they will be able to put this whole mess behind them!
