Journal Entry - Volume 3 - Chapter 11 · 11:08am Jun 2nd, 2019

Dear Journal,

My friends and I boarded the train to Canterlot to see the princesses. While I was nervous about this task, I did make a promise and I must keep it!

When we got to the castle, they must have been REALLY busy, as they weren't even letting anyone else into the castle! Fortunately the insignias were motivation enough to get us in! We were ushered into the Audience Chamber almost immediately! I gave the insignias to Princess Luna, and... she didn't respond in the regal, royal way in which I was expecting. She... she was... crying! While this was a shock, the more rational part of my mind believed that past all that royal jewelry and regality... beats a heart FULLY capable of feeling the same pain of loss as we are!

They escorted us to what they called the Mausoleum of the Heroes of Light. Many pedestals lined the room. Most of them containing only an insignia like the ones I brought and a small trinket of some kind. Was this all that was left of those brave heroes?! Would this same fate befall... me?! With the thought fresh in my mind and a quick glance around the room, I still chose to accept the new insignia from the princess.

Why did I do it? I... I don't really know! Maybe I wanted a chance to make a difference! Maybe I was bored with my life! Maybe I wanted to become a warrior like my... never mind. But... I think in my mind at least, I was trying to make up for... what I did in the past. Someday I'll tell you about it, journal.

On to brighter things! Princess Cadance took me to the training grounds to choose a handful of Lunar Protectors to serve me. They all seemed well qualified for the job. However, there were four that really stood out to me! They stood out to the commander as well! For the wrong reasons though! It looks like Lunar Protectors are supposed to work alone. These guys weren't doing that at all! While they hadn't done as they were instructed, they were really something to watch! The synergy these four had together! I knew then that they were just the ones I was looking for...

Teamwork makes all the difference.
