    I’m a Professional Now!

Hey all! It’s been a while, hasn’t it. A lot’s been going on. Drank a lot of tea.

I have officially graduated with an associate’s degree in arts with a focus on writing! Hooray! I have a job as a writing tutor now, and have been editing professionally as a side job for about a year. So, where does that leave my ponyfic proofreading?

    New Job!

I've just gotten a job at my university as a writing tutor! I'm really excited about it and figured I'd share it here. It should also mean more time proofreading, since I don't have to pick up as many hours at my other jobs to cover the gaps.

    Finals end and boredom strikes

So, now that I’m done with finals week, I have plenty of time to work on proofreading over break. The problem is, I finished most of that too. So, if you have something for me to read, by all means, send it now!

Profile Annual Checkup · 9:32pm Jun 1st, 2019

Looks like that time of year again. Time for my account's yearly doctor's checkup! Don't go back and check for more, just trust me, it's annual.

So, first let's examine the proofreading side of things. Yup, turn and cough, okay... Hmm, looks like you're pretty behind here. Yes, it seems 's a lot of plaque buildup has caused a major blockage of stories to read. Seems that unhealthy lifestyle of final exams has been hard on your body. I'm going to prescribe not picking up new stories for a bit, at least until you can get back on your feet and really tease out those kinks in the system, say, for a month or so. In the meantime, keep up that exercise regimen of reading and you should be right as rain in no time.

All right, now for the writing side. Oh wow, that's a lot of blood. I'm afraid we're going to have to operate. Those side projects have grown far too large to support PtP anymore. Yes, I'm afraid we're going to have to remove that story entirely. I do apologize, but it's the only way. There's just not enough interest flowing to that area anymore and it's gone necrotic.

Speaking of side projects, let's check those. Raise your arms and hold this please. Hmm, interesting. It seems you have not just one, not two, but three major projects happening at once. No wonder your circulation is struggling! Hmm, let's take a look, shall we? A job as a writing tutor and editor, congratulations! It seems all that work is finally paying off. And what's this over here? A novel, well well well. You're going to name it "Song of the Firebird"? A fine name. Wait a minute, does that mean you're pregnant in this metaphor? I'm not sure. Best not to think about it, I think. And finally I see you're directing and writing a video game called "Turtle Town", is that correct? Well, I can see why you waited until now; it just entered the initial beta testing phase for the first stage. Or maybe that's alpha testing? I wouldn't know, I'm just a doctor, after all. I see here that interested parties can contact you about testing, is that right? Very well. Oh, or any of these projects? All right, I'll mark that down in your chart.

Well, looks like everything checks out. You're not dead yet, so that's good. Always good to stay on this side of the fandom, eh? Well, take care. I'll see you next year! Or, you know, if you claw yourself in after a car accident. I mean, have you seen what they're charging for ambulances these days? Yes, hopefully everything is just fine the next time you come in. Until next time!

That really is a lot of blood.

Juggling multiple major projects can be challenging, yeah. I only ever let myself work on two stories max at any given moment, so as to not distract myself from the work at hand. I think establishing some sort of routine is key in order to write more; that and trying to avoid writer's block, which is a lot harder.
