Dream #2: A Kind Chrysalis · 6:24pm May 12th, 2019

Dream #2

I had yet another dream that I wanted to share with you guys, and don't worry about any dark themes this time around. This one was a bit more tame... and honestly, a bit sad for the first half.

So, the dream opened up with me lounging around my house. After a little while, I got bored and decided to go for a walk. The strange thing was, it was not a house where I lived in real life, let alone any such neighborhood, but that was not really a big concern in my dream. As I was walking, however, I happened to hear some sobbing.

When I made it to the source of the sound, I saw Queen Chrysalis sitting in a dry runoff channel. And she was indeed crying. I did not consider her presence in the world out of ordinary, since the "logic" part of my brain was probably off while I was asleep. So, I approached her, asking "Hey, are you okay?"

She looked at me, her eyes rich with pain and her lip quivering, and she shouted "GO AWAY FROM ME!"

I hastily abided her wish and ran back to my house. However, looking back at the changeling queen as I ran... she looked fairly regretful, as conveyed by the sad look in her eyes.

A little while later, it had become dark. My parents arrived home from work and lounged around watching The Sean Hannity Show, much like they do in real life. I wanted to go back out and check on Chrysalis, just to make sure she was alright, but when I tried to leave, my mother said "If you go out there after dark, young man... you'll be in big trouble!"

So, I had to figure out how to go out without being noticed. This was when I climbed out through the window of my bedroom, and slid down the drainpipe to the ground. I brought a folded blanket with me, tucked under my jacket; it was cold out, and I was thinking Chrysalis could get sick if she didn't have a way to stay warm.

Again, I know Queen Chrysalis is a villain, and I am not sure why I felt compelled to help her. Maybe I just felt bad for her after seeing her sobbing, I don't know.

But in any case, I arrived back at the same spot to find her curled up, asleep. However, she was shivering, passively hugging herself to stay warm. I immediately took out the blanket and wrapped it around her. I had to roll her in order to do so, but no matter how much I pushed, she did not wake up. Once she was wrapped up, her shivering slowed down and then she nestled herself into the blanket a little more.

Slowly, she began to open her eyes, and when she saw me, that was when she became wide awake. She looked at the blanket I wrapped her in, and back at me.

"D-did you do this for me...?" she asked me.

"Yes," I responded.

She then looked at the blanket for several seconds, running her hoof across the fabric, just before she looked back at me.

"...Th-thank you," she said, tears welling up in her eyes.

Immediately after she said this, her stomach growled loudly. She looked at her belly for a moment, and then back at me with a sad look in her eyes.

"I'm hungry," Chrysalis said, "do you have something I could eat?"

I made some awkward gestures like I was examining myself, before I responded: "Sorry, I don't have anything with me."

Chrysalis' stomach rumbled again.

"I-I really need some food..." she said.

I realize that changelings feed on love, but in my dream, it worked nothing like this for her. Apparently, she could only live off actual food.

So, feeling bad for her, I told her I would bring her back something from my house, to which she gave me a feeble smile. I guess she really appreciated what I was doing for her. So, I snuck back into the house, finding that my parents were already asleep (yeah, that fast), so I went into the kitchen, and found a large cake sitting in the fridge. It was red velvet with white cream-cheese frosting.

So, I took the entire cake (not even thinking about how my parents could react about it :rainbowlaugh:) and brought it outside to Chrysalis. Her eyes lit up upon seeing it, and her tongue was hanging out of her massive-smile mouth. I set the pastry down in front of her, and she just started devouring the entire thing. This went on for a few minutes, until it was gone.

Her belly had become quite distended, and she was laying on her back, rubbing it while licking the frosting off her face. Then, while upside-down relative to me standing over her, she curled her lips up into a massive smile that I have never seen Chrysalis ever make before. Her eyes were tearing up again.

"You're so kind." She said to me. "I wish all the others were like you."

I knelt down next to her, and started rubbing her head, running my fingers through her mane. She nuzzled my hand and moaned, so I could tell she liked this.

"I promise to check up on you tomorrow. Is that okay?" I asked her.

She nodded pretty vigorously, as though anxious to see me again.

So, with that, I left her for the night, returned home, and only a few minutes after laying in my bed, it was morning already, and I felt fully refreshed, as though I had a night's rest. The first thing I did was peek out my upstairs bedroom window to check on Chrysalis. She was still in her same spot... but there were people around her, and they seemed to be antagonized her.

I quickly put my clothes and shoes on, ran downstairs, and outside. There was a family of four, a father, a mother, a teen son, and teen daughter, all of whom were throwing soda cans and beer bottles at the changeling queen, who was using her horn to conjure a flat, circular shield to block them. Even so, she was laying on the ground, crying while covering the lower half of her face with her hooves.

This enraged me, so I went up to the family and said "Just what the hell do you think you're doing?"

They all looked at me, and the father said "Well, smartass... we're taking care of this worthless waste of space who's ruining our neighborhood!"

"Yeah!" the mother said. "She's not welcome here!"

"But I didn't do anything!" Chrysalis sobbed.

I stepped in front of Chrysalis, folding my arms while staring down the family of four. I forgot exactly what I said to them, but I remember that it was something like this:

"Now... all of you had better turn around and leave right now, or so help me... we could have everyone in this neighborhood throw trash at you, so you can see how you like it! Since Chrysalis here didn't do anything to you, you can't do anything to her!"

The whole time this was happening, Chrysalis had lowered her shield and put her fore-hooves up on my shoulders, cowering behind me while carefully peeking out from behind me (Could you imagine that? Queen Chrysalis cowering in genuine fear behind a young man from a family of four?)

I think this got through to the family, though, since they all stomped away begrudgingly, but never said another word to me. Once they were out of sight, I turned back to face Chrysalis.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She nodded, but then tears fell from her eyes as her lip started quivering. She then buried her face into her hooves as she began sobbing.

"Wh-why won't... anyone... accept m-m-me...?!" she said over her crying.

Feeling bad, I started rubbing her head, and soon enough, she stopped crying and began nuzzling my hand again.

"You just haven't met the right people," I said.

Even though she ceased her sobbing, Chrysalis was still sniffling. She told me that she never wanted to try and take over Equestria, but she did it just because she was angry that all the ponies never trusted her and denied her any association. She wanted to get back at them for not taking her as she was, because she looked different than everyone else.

I offered to let her stay at my house, with me providing her living necessities, and she delightfully accepted this. So, I just basically took her in shortly after finding her, much like with Kyle Schaeffer and Lyra Heartstrings in the Find Her saga. I was walking her back to my house, and that was when two new people were walking toward us from the opposite direction.

They looked like Secret Service agents, with their all-black suits and sunglasses. You would think they were going to detain me and Chrysalis simply for her being here on earth, but that didn't happen. What happened was they simply asked me if Chrysalis was my friend, as they noticed her walking with me.

I said "yes," and they both pulled out a hundred-dollar bill each, giving me $200 total. I was surprised by this, and asked them what it was for, and they said it was for "not being racist to changelings." And then they just left without another word. As jarring as this all was, I really wanted to get Chrysalis back to my house, just because I did not feel like becoming sidetracked.

I went in through the front door of the house, when I realized that my parents were already up and in the kitchen, drinking their morning coffee and eating breakfast. They knew I had come in, and this was when I began to really worry. For one thing, I am a closet brony in real life, and I was worried about them learning about it if I brought Chrysalis into the house with me.

However, when they looked at me as I walked in with the changeling queen following behind me, they just casually asked "Hey [my real name], who's your friend?"

This caught me by surprise, as I was expecting a complete freakout from them, but I decided it would be best to play along. So, I introduced Chrysalis to them, and they were both fairly welcoming of her, as if she were one of my regular friends. They did not seem at all bothered by the fact that she was clearly not human.

Eventually, though, I showed Chrysalis to the guest room upstairs, and she was immensely happy with it. Especially so after apparently having been wandering the streets and sleeping outside for a long while. After everything I had done for her, she was, yet again, becoming emotional.

She pulled me into a firm hug after thanking me again. I relented and returned the hug to her (and she surprisingly felt quite warm, different from how I imagined her).

Her mane had, at some point I was not looking at her during the hug, turned pink, as did her eyes. Basically, she looked like this:

I think her overjoyed emotions must have had an effect on her overall appearance in some sense, as her color palette remained this way for the little that was left of the dream. Also, her mood from that point on was more bright and cheery, in contrast to her depressed, emotional state I found her in (or, if you want to go a step further, her ruthless, bitter side from the show).

"You truly are such a great friend, [my real name]..." she said to me. "...I will go through anything to make sure I can repay you."

And she was willing to live up to her word.

After helping her get settled in, such as giving her a warm shower and serving her some lunch, we both decided to go out for a walk together. Strangely, the neighborhood changed from being out in a semi-rural area to being on the edge of a downtown area.

Chrysalis and I more or less just chatted. I told her I plan on becoming a professional writer (this carried over into my dream from the real-world), and she seemed quite fascinated by it. She asked me what my books were about, and I told her, having to take about ten minutes to explain it, since it's quite a complex young-adult fantasy plot.

"Wow!" she said. "Sounds like a great series! I would love to read it sometime!"

At this point, she was kind of sounding like Twilight, as she began listing off a few books she liked (apparently, in my dream-world, she has read Harry Potter). At some point during the walk, she got a little bit ahead of me, spreading her wings as she looked back at me.

"Hop on my back," Chrysalis said, "and I can take you for a flight!"

But right as I was about to do so, I woke up, and the dream ended.

So, yeah. There you have it. This was definitely one of my better MLP-related dreams, even if none of my favorite characters were in it. But, I ended becoming fairly emotionally attached to Queen Chrysalis in my dream, and tbh... I think she was falling in love with me or something... :rainbowderp:

Interestingly enough, I actually had a similar dream with Bowser from the Mario universe in place of Chrysalis, but it wasn't intimate, trust me... :twilightsheepish: No, it more or less just involved me offering Bowser help, and he was willing to accept it. He appreciated what I did for him, and came clean about how no one accepted him. We then went on to become good buddies for the course of the dream. But, I digress.

Hope you all liked this dream I shared! Credit for Chrysalis recolored vector goes to "WeegeeStareAtYou."

Nice! I guess even if she had to hide her ability to disguise would be very handy. Reminds me of a similar dream I had once

we could have everyone in this neighborhood through trash at you

throw?

Also, I hate it when a dream's ending is timed like that.

Yeah, it would be. And what kind of dream was it?

5057751
Ah, thanks. I'll be sure to correct that (I sure do have quite a tendency to miss these things, don't I!)

And yes, I was pretty frustrated for a while after waking, but I got over it.

Well, dreamed Once i found a Friend of blue turned into foals but had still his memories. Dispite being actually one who rather prefers no help, he was grateful for the Hospitality and started to behave like a Child, hugging a Teddy in His Sleep. He then begged me to Keep it for myself, fearing he would never hear the end of it if his Friends find out
