Accuracies on Velociraptor · 10:31pm Mar 18th, 2019
We all know the big, fleet-footed Velociraptor that terrorized people in the Jurassic Park movies. With their razor sharp claws and wicked speed, they caused more deaths than any other dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park franchise. They had advanced intelligence, allowing them to open doors and set traps. The only thing more terrifying than a Velociraptor is a pack of Velociraptors. The packs in the movies can be as big from two to four, to even eight. These packs could take down a group of soldiers in less than a minute.
But Jurassic Park had a few inaccuracies on this incredible dinosaur. For one thing, it was way bigger than it really was. Jurassic Park showed the Velociraptor being as big as a person, but it was really less than one half the size of an adult person. I heard a rumor that the makers of the first Jurassic Park originally making the fleet-footed killer a Deinonychus (which is about as big as the raptors in the movie), but chose the name Velociraptor because it sounded cooler. Studies have also shown that Velociraptor may have had feathers.
I guess we can all agree that the Velociraptors Jurassic Park are really just Deinonychus with a different name, but that doesn't have to stop us from loving them
