    Sorry For Silence

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve made one of these, hasn’t it? Well, I have a few things I would like to say. First off, regarding Compliance. It’s been a while since it has updated and I apologize for that. With the state of affairs that my life is right now (eviction, the COVID-19 scares, familial strife, personal mental health, college, employment or lack thereof), it might take a

    Dear Readers

It is with a very heavy heart that I bring you this message to you today, instead of an exciting new update for the stories. In fact… The reason behind our silence for a while is the reason I’m writing this notice to you all in the first place.

    Sudden name change

... I changed my name... NOTHING MORE TO SAY ABOUT IT. I'm still The IDA Official, just by a more... recognizable and less gimmicky name. Anyone who complains can take it up with Human Resources... The big minotaur with an even bigger axe.

Creative Writing Exercise: Smash Character Reveal Trailer · 8:58pm Feb 13th, 2019

Heyo folks. After months of silence, I return with a new blog post as a response to MythrilMoth's prompt for a Creative Writing Exercise, "Write Your Own Smash Bros. Reveal Trailer". As a Smash Bros. fan, I absolutely couldn't resist. So, without further ado, on with the trailer...

Trailer begins with a guitar riff on a black and red paint-splatter background. Shift to show Captain Falcon, Samus and Cloud amidst a fight in the parking lot in front of a two-story motel. All three are fighting blow for blow for a few seconds, until one of the doors on the second floor is kicked open. The three fighters stop, as the camera slowly pans upwards to show the figure, showcasing black sneakers, ratty jeans, a red jacket exposing a black anime t-shirt, a belt containing five different beam katanas, and the orange sunglasses. The fighters step back as the figure jumps from the second floor, as the figure speaks a single sentence.
“Come get some.”

Gameplay segment begins, using the No More Heroes Motel Parking Lot as the stage (as used in the final boss battle in No More Heroes, with Travis wielding the Bloody Berry beam katana as a default attack. Theme music playing is “Kill or Be Killed”, the primary theme of No More Heroes 2.

Trailer plays out with Travis fighting Captain Falcon, Samus and Cloud, culminating in the usage of his Final Smash. Switching back to cinematic, Travis engages “Anarchy in the Galaxy” and one-hit KOs the others. Trailer ends with Travis turning towards the camera and pointing towards the viewer.
“I’m gonna be number one!”

Travis Touchdown’s playstyle and moveset
Travis’ playstyle is similar to Shulk’s, alternating between different movesets to gain boosts in certain situations, only instead of Monado styles, it’s different models of Beam Katana, each with special abilities and drawbacks. He possesses unique grab attacks based on various wrestling moves, while his Smash Attacks are heavier versions of sword swings. His style is a melee-heavy speed fighter, controlling the ground level with sword-based attacks though lacks in various aerial options.

Travis Touchdown’s Special Moves
Pressing Special while stationary will allow for Travis to switch between his different swords in a cycling fashion, similar to Shulk’s Monado Skills. Travis possesses four different Beam Katanas to be used on the fly. Blood Berry for default, Tsubaki Mk. III for speed at the cost of damage, Peony for high damage at the cost of slower attack speeds, and Rose Nasty for twice the number of attacks at the cost of lower defense. However, when switching to other Beam Katanas, Travis will have to watch his battery gauge, as attacking with his Beam Katana will result in the batteries slowly draining, resulting in decreased attack power. To recharge the Beam Katana currently being used, press Down+Special to initiate the recharge ability. Note, Travis will be completely stationary during this time, and vulnerable to attacks.

Final Smash: Dark Side Mode

  • During his Final Smash, a three slots will roll to create a random effect for Travis, engaging one of four Dark Side Mode abilities. The rarity of certain abilities occurs ranges from low to high as denoted on the list.
  • Rolling three Grasshoppers will engage “Strawberry On the Shortcake”, which make Travis incredibly fast and increases the damage output of his attacks incredibly, but also makes him harder to control.
  • Rolling three Bells will engage “Blueberry Cheese Brownie”, which will result in Travis rapidly firing energy orbs from his sword in whatever direction he is facing. They are large but can be dodged, and have the effect of a Smart Bomb if touched.
  • Rolling three BARS will engage “Cranberry Chocolate Sundae”, which will cause the screen to go black and white, with all players being immobilized except for Travis. Travis will slowly walk towards the nearest opponent, and attack them with an instant KO ability. This freeze will last ten seconds before wearing off.
  • Rolling three 7s will engage “Anarchy in the Galaxy”, which will cause Travis to explode, catching any nearby players in an instant-kill attack. Extremely rare, and will result in Travis being temporarily immobilized.

I believe you were going with the fighters he was fighting in the trailers being bounty hunters? To coincide with Travis being an Assassin? In that case, it would have been better to have Wolf, since Cloud is NOT a mercenary/bounty hunter.

In retrospect, that would have been better. Ah well, Cloud was on my mind at the time anyway.
