    In My Opinion: Fallout Equestria

Hey guys, here’s the first of what I hope to be a long series of review and opinion pieces. This format and title and so on will be work in progress as I gain some experience. So for now, IMO is the title of the series and the format is a bit of an unorganized ramble. Still, it might be best to start off with how I started off: by taking a look at Fallout: Equestria (Fo:E). Please note it's been

    Introductions are in Order

Hey guys, my name is gmoyes, though GM or G works just as well. I'm a young man from Nova Scotia, Canada who is a massive nerd. I've studied science quite a bit, but never mad it far in post secondary as calculus completely kicked my ass. I've been around Fimfiction for a while now, but I have always been mostly a lurker. I've read a lot of great stories and I figured I might as well break out of my shell and share some of my own ideas and stories.

I was introduced to MLP about 2 years ago. My brother brought me along to a gaming group he was part of (mostly D&D and Magic the Gathering) and soon enough the other members of the group introduced the two of us to the show. Of course, I'm a nerd who has been online so I have certainly heard about the show and heard it had a pretty decent following with older guys, but I wasn't particularly interested at the time. Still, one night they brought up the first few episode for us to watch through. And I must say, it was good but I'm not much of a TV show watcher, I am much more of a reader. So the leader of the group (who since then has become one of my closest friends) introduced me to Fallout: Equestria. Now, my claim to fame as a Brony is reading the entirety of Fallout: Equestria before finishing Season 1 (in fact, before watching Over a Barrel. Now I'll never forget the 'Fluttershy is a tree' joke). Soon enough, me and my brother caught up during the break between Season 6 and 7.

Now, I think I may be the most dedicated Brony in the group. I've been following Equestria Daily avidly and watching the episode as they've come out. I've probably read more fanfiction than the rest of the group put together (unless you count the fact that the group leader has a hard copy of Fallout: Equestria and had read it at least half a dozen times). For me, MLP is the very definition of exceptional. I'm not interested in thing meant for little girls, but I make an exception for MLP. I'm not much of a TV show watcher, but I make an exception for MLP. I'm a quiet guy who usually keeps my thoughts to myself, especially if it's embarrassing, but I make an exception for MLP.

As for what I'll be doing here, well, I'll be sharing my ideas. So far I've posted the first chapter of All My Failures, mostly to break the ice and to get some confidence, but I have several ideas for stories rattling around my head and a few sparce notes typed up. I admit, I don't have much experience as a writer, but I would love to share my own thoughts on the show we all know and love. But not just that. As I said, I've read a ton of fanfiction. At some point I'll give some blog posts about some of my favourite stories as well as more analytical pieces looking at popular genres and themes in MLP fanfiction. I don't think I'll become a dedicated reviewer (or writer in all honesty), but I like sharing what I know.

Anyways, I'm not quite sure what is immediately next down the pipe. Probably another chapter of All My Failure, but ultimately depends on if the mood strikes me. It might be a review or analysis post or a different short story I've been working on.

Either way, until next time, see ya.

I see a lot of similarities between us. :ajsmug: I'm looking forward to read your story on Wednesday.
