Empathy

I figured out what I want my story to mean. I know it's just a silly fanfic, but sometimes it's amazing how writing can sometimes be a product of what you're thinking and feeling in your everyday life. Being empathetic to other peoples' problems and keeping an open mind is something I think the world really needs to work on, and I think the word itself sums up what I want my story to be. Well, that and the handful of other "themes" I've attached it to like maturity and seeking purpose. It just sort of hit me as I was writing the next chapter that the whole meaning/crux/climax of the story revolves around that one concept: empathy.
