I've heard some people leave their trees up clear up until Epiphany (today, Jan. 6) is that true?

I'm going to be honest, it hasn't been up until just a week or so ago that I learned some people leave their trees up that long. Even when I was a kid and we left the tree up throughout the holidays, it usually came down on January 2 or 3rd at latest. I usually take mine down on the 27th or 28th while I still have the ambition to do so.
