Some interesting stories... · 9:01pm Nov 4th, 2012
Hi all! Now, I'd just like to devour a minute of your time by suggesting some stories that have really caught my eye. Now, I don't tend to read stories very much, but when I do I go for quality. Sure, there are those hulking great behemoths of the FIMFic world, but I prefer to aim for the smaller, hidden gems that are dotted throughout the site. Obviously the authors of such stories as Past Sins and End of Ponies have plenty of likes, views and favourites behind their names, but the smaller authors deserve recognition too. Those, and the ones that really go above and beyond without as much recognition as they deserve.
So, without further ado, here they are!
Chaos Rules Once More ~KillerSteel
Now, this right here is an excellent [Comedy], [Dark] and [Random] story. The [Dark] isn't so prevalent, but still there. Now, every once in a while I need some insanity to refuel me, but this is insanity done to a fuckin' T. It's basically a story about Discord becoming Emperor of Equestria, and letting chaos reign. Now, the clever thing is that Steel has captured the confused, chaos-weary soul of Equestria and its residents. If you've ever thought, 'What in the hay happened to the ordinary citizens of Equestria while the Mane 6 were off in the Maze,' this is an excellent story to read. I particularly love the 'Blunderbolts' chapter, simply because the Wonderbolts are portrayed so excellently. That, and it's certainly packing in comedic value.

A Name in the Darkness ~electreXcessive
This... is a very good story. A [Dark] and [Tragedy] story written in perfect, mysterious prose. Despite the lack of a horror tag, I'd certainly describe this as a horror. Somewhat reminiscent of Stephen King's 'The Mist', but excellently written. Don't get me wrong, this story is entirely unique and original, but the author has captured the essence of a good dark story. Mystery. When the weather begins to change above Ponyville, things soon get out of hoof. The weather is like that of the Everfree; wild and untameable. The Mane 6 take cover from a raging storm one night, hiding in one of Applejack's many apple cellars. Soon after... well, I'll let you read it yourself.
5,085 words in one awesome chapter.
Equestria from Dust ~soundslikeponies
This is another one of my most adored stories. It's a [Slice of Life] and [Alternate Universe] story about the creation of Equestria, but vastly different to canon. In a good way. Celestia awakens to see an empty world before her; a blank canvas, if you will. Soon thereafter she begins to build the world from her imagination, sculpting the very Earth before her. But as time passes, her creation seems to become little more than a lucid dream...

Huh, I'll have to at least give these a glance. They sound good.
