Consider this post for your 'next year's to-do list' · 12:13am Jan 1st, 2019
Here I am, waiting with my family for that last hour of the year to come; thinking to myself, what should I say to this community?
This place has earned me some good and bad experience, both from which I had learned a lot. Because of that, I think that it will be the best to give this community some kind of knowledge or advice in return.
Let’s start with some context first: through this year I made a travel of self-discovery about what I want to be and what I really am. By one side, I am an egghead that knows nothing and likes to be praised, and by the other I am a kind soul eager to help the ones on need.
I joined a group of my church, focused on the make of events for children’s and parents alike. You know? Looking at others… No. let me be more specific, seeing more than a hundred youngster and adults working together to raise hope and joy among the community, rising funds to help feed the poor and sick, make Christmas presents for the kids, gather for hours just to pray for the good behalf of others.
I lost count of the tears shred while being part of all those moments.
I may have a lot of issues to deal in order to improve myself, but while I was carrying with other people problems, helping them, giving them a listening ear and an open mind. I noticed how stupid was to worry about those issue.
Life is just one, but we humans and creatures are millions. Don’t let those inner demons of yours trouble you, sooner than later most of them will get lost or will stop bothering you. Life can be plain for the ones that not care enough, but in truth, every little detail matters; in truth the simplicity of every day can give the most dramatic and emotive moment if you sit long enough to appreciate it.
So, my word of advice for all of you is to care most for others. Give it a try, maybe at your church, school, or community. There is going to be some hardships and mishaps along the way, I can’t deny you that. What I can assure you is that it will change your perception on how you think about yourself as an individual, and maybe, with enough luck, how important is for us living things to help each other.
Happy new year everybody, may Spike the great and glorious lead us to a better and more happy future.
