The Path of the Horse

14 December at 12:00

The year was 2006. I was a successful horse trainer, it was my dream job in many ways. However, there were two clients of mine who didn't think I was so great. Their names were Sofi and Sundance. These were two mares who were relentless in telling me they didn't like what I was doing with them.

Now, I had always been known as the "gentle horse trainer". I knew all of the natural horsemanship techniques, I practiced everything from animal communication to liberty trick training and bridleless riding. None of that worked for them. They persisted with biting, kicking, bolting and bucking.

At the time, there were only two alternatives, get stronger or get rid of them. I didn't settle for either of those and I made up my own third alternative, sell my ranch and travel the world to find someone who could show me what I needed to learn to find harmony with these mares.

The search took me to the most unlikely places. Russia was where I finally found someone who broke all the horsemanship rules and blazed a new path into understanding both horses and humanity.

In those days it was nearly impossible to find anyone who truly had the horses' best interest at heart but once I found it, I was able to turn my own practices around and base my new life on true compassionate communication. In the ensuing years, I've found harmony not only with horses but in all of my relationships.

Fast forward 12 years and now I know many people who are able to not only practice this for themselves, but also to help others gain clarity about their own paths.

I want to make it as easy as possible for people today to find this third alternative that doesn't involve getting stronger or more forceful, and doesn't involve giving up on your dreams of being with horses. You don't even need to sell your ranch!

I have put together a fantastic team of people helping me talk to people individually to give them hope and face them in the right direction to achieve what we all really want, peace and harmony with our loved ones, whether they're horses, dogs, cats, or humans.

Here's what one of the people wrote after her call:

I just want to thank Jenna Darko for a wonderful and inspiring meeting over the phone/zoom. I really did not know what to expect, but deep inside of me I think I knew that I needed to start a journey in a new direction. And what could I lose? So I signed up for a meeting, and I was really surprised by how deep a conversation can be with a stranger, (just over the phone!) but with someone who has the same desire to explore and find a better connection with our horses.

So thank you! I really needed the talk!
