Holiday Update on My Life · 5:34am Dec 21st, 2018
Hey everyone! It's been a while. A lot has happened this year, so let's quickly catch you up.
In March I got back into the fandom, things went along fine until I had trouble with the room I was renting and had to move out short notice to find another room. I did find one to rent from an elderly couple, but finances got very tight.
I spent a lot of time stressed and being an asshole to more people than normal due to poor paying part time work and a full time job hunt going nowhere.
Needing more cash, I moved for a full time factory job in Utah. It was very physically demanding, involving moving 1-2 tons of powder one bucket at a time into machines, but it paid well and I got along fine for almost a month.
Then I got hospitalized with ulcers after vomiting up some blood. Like any red blooded American under 65, I can't afford health care, so the bill's gonna be a bitch. I decided to move back home to family while I recover and live in a less stressful environment.
Now I'm going to move home this weekend in time for Christmas, though as the titular songs about being home for Christmas don't mention, travel is expensive. With a couple major moves this year, meds to buy, and a hospital bill that'll eventually come due I'm worried about my finances.
If you're feeling generous and feel like giving a bit of cash to a stranger who wrote horse words once upon a time, I would greatly appreciate it. I've exhausted the normal resources to fund the last move (relatives, friends) and just need to move back, and make it a couple weeks to recover and find a new job and re-establish myself.
This'll probably be my last post for the year, I've learned and grown a lot so hopefully I can check mid-life crisis and unexpected hospitalizations off my to-do list. If all goes well I should be back to normal in January and I'll come back to the site again, and we'll see how it goes from there. The biggest thing is maintaining a low stress lifestyle and healthier diet if I want the ulcers to heal.
[edit: Donations are over, I made it through the holidays, the move, and most of the illness, so no point leaving it up. Thanks to all who contributed to help me get well.]
