Didn't expect that.
Feels nice though. Especially since I came back a little more than a year and a half ago focused on not caring what others thought about my writing and just writing for me first and caring about the reaction second. As long as I write a story and enjoy it, I don't mind the bad reaction since each good critical comment I take and try to make my writing better.
Also helps I planned to release biweekly and then monthly content of some sort just to keep some kind of momentum going.
So what does this mean for my new story?
I had a good manic reaction to overall decent likes and that's a good thing, I had a sequel in mind since being halfway done with Past Lives though that isn't going to be worked on until I feel like I'm in a good arc stopping point for my main story.
So will that come soon? Maybe not, but it's going to be different than this story cause at least this original idea came out of three ideas: It would be funny to have Somnambula x Luna be a thing since I both never see much Somnambula fics and her name very close to the fancy way of saying 'sleepwalking.' Second, I never really felt like the Hearth's Warming Tale play explained how Equestria was probably made perfectly and how could I fit the season seven and eight developments in some mess of a plot. And third, I'd never really wrote Twilight and Luna as an actual couple.
Sure I probably wrote Luna really oddly and I could definitely have cut a lot of the second chapter if I was being honest but I like world building and making the world a little more lived in. So why not have weird semi tangents that won't come up until probably later when I write a sequel or two? The first story in a series always feels a bit odd.
One good hint of what might happen in this season 3/ season 4 world. Anything that the show has shown up to season 8 is fair game. I mean that should be a given if I thought adding the Pillars of Equestria into the Hearth's Warming tale should be a major hint. That includes the movie. Gives me a lot of wiggle room if I want to make Equestria feel like a more natural place from the beginning.
Good stuff.
I continue to enjoy your work and look forward to more
