D&D & MLP... Fun! · 7:07am Dec 17th, 2018
So I have a question for you all, will have a straw poll for quick answering.
Now you may all know that one of my favourite games to play is Dungeons and Dragons, or D&D for short. Hell I tried to make a D&D story on Fim that... well didn’t really work out in the end (P.S I may have a idea for a new story with the D&D Dragon story, hang tight on that) but going back on topic, I’m one that ask a question of what would the Mane Six classes be in D&D 5e. Most of them are pretty straight forward with Twilight being a Wizard, Fluttershy being a Druid or BeastMaster Ranger, and Pinkie being a Bard. Some kinda hard, Rarity could be a Rogue or a Cleric and Applejack being a Fighter or Paladin. But do you see the issue here? One of the six is missing?
What Class would Rainbow be?
Now I gave it some thought and paring the stuff from each class and came up with some that make sense and others that I think would be cool.:
Rogue:
By far this Class makes the most sense. Dash is very fast and nimble like, so she would have a high Dex to start with and which class that could take full use on that, yes the Rogue. It makes sooo much sense for Dash to be a Rogue, Mostly the Thief Archetype, and hell if you want to go crazy you could go Arcane Trickster and Give Dash some magic of her own. That’s my issue with this pick, it’s an obvious choice for her. Sure it good but kinda lazy if you think about it.
Monk:
Now this is mostly coming off of Geek and Sundry site (Link to that here) but it could be fun... though I don’t know about making her an Half-orc... but I’m just going off of the fact that it’s basic rule books they were using. Way of the Four Elements does make sense for her with being a weather pony but way of the fist is just funny. The down side is that I really don’t know how Rainbow would sit still and do most of the Monk training. If you have an answer for that I would love to hear it.
Fighter:
Now this also makes sense to me, Rainbow as a fighter. Sure there are Str fighters out there and Rainbow is more speedy but Fighters can also be Dex base, because, you know, fighters can use a long bow and duel weild, and all that fun stuff. This also comes off the idea that Rainbow is in the military so she’s sorta used to being a soldier... or not I don’t know. I don’t see Many thing wrong with this but again like the Rogue it seems to be an obvious choice for Dash.
Now for the more out there picks, like:
Paladin:
Now, listen, I know what you are thinking, Dash as a Paladin? Please, that wouldn’t work. Well let me explain to you in the simpliest answer: For me, a Paladin is like a fighter just with holy magic. Again you can have a Dex base fighter, why not a Dex base Paladin? Rainbow zipping around, hitting monsters and using divine strike on them, that’s just cool. And later she could get Summon Greater Mount and summon a Pegasus! Wouldn’t that be funny?
Sorceress:
Like the Paladin, this one is out there... and honestly I just picked this one on the idea that it would be cool. I don’t have much to say is that Rainbow firing off spells left and like, and looking cool about it.

I think dungeons and discords put rainbow as a rouge but for rarity i would put as some sort of magical support that uses fashion to distract the enemies

plus the stories you could tell with that. Imagine rainbow being all sneaky sneaky then boom shes glowing like a disco ball because rairty wanted to protect her in a fabulous way
Well, if you want to got with the really out there classes, Gunslinger is an option.
That or Thief/Rouge I think.
