Daring Do and the Red Shoe Diary

For years, since nearly the start of the series' rise to international fame, the rumors have persisted: Was there an adult-oriented Daring Do story? Has our intrepid explorer gone down paths far more sordid and saucy than her audience could have imagined?

New Red Shoes Chapter is Live!

After far too long of a hiatus, Red Shoes is officially back with a new chapter!

This time, we'll be hearing from the co-owner of Sugarcube Corner, who has a saucy but sympathetic tale to tell.

I hope you enjoy, and let me know in the comments. Cheers, all!

    Red Shoe Diaries: The Return

    *blows the dust off*

Yikes. I let this sit for way, WAY too long. As I'm typing this I'm realizing it's been 4 years, since this story last updated. That's horrendous, and also entirely my fault. True, lots of life has happened to me, and then there's the world going mad besides. But still, I should NOT have let this story lapse like this. For that, readers, you have my apologies.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Been with family most of the day, but wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

This has admittedly been a crappy year for me, but I AM very thankful for all of you. Your support means the world, and I'm glad y'all are here.

In the comments, let me know what your fave Turkey Day desserts are!

There's no way I'm getting on the road again... · 5:47am Nov 26th, 2018

At least not for a roadtrip that freaking long, anyway! But we're here in Seattle! More details and pics after the jump!

I intended to post this update when we arrived last Wednesday (day before Thanksgiving), but we got to the hotel and collapsed into bed - and save for a last minute reservation for a Thanksgiving meal at a local restaurant, we've been sleeping and running 1000 errands to try and get set back up in our temporary home (read: temp corporate apartment)

As for the roadtrip itself:
Four days in length, for a total of 2874.0 miles. Due to expected winter weather across the Rockies and northern plains states, we had to take the long way, otherwise it would have been only three days total. The general path looked like this:

Leg 0: Short run from our old home to Missouri border, done to shave a few hours off Leg 1.
Leg 1: Missouri - Amarillo, TX
Leg 2: Amarillo - Flagstaff, AZ
Leg 3: Flagstaff - Modesto, CA (Beautiful scenic drive, at least until CA border; then utterly desolate)
Leg 4: Modesto - Medford, OR (Lake Shasta area and CA/OR mountain pass is GORGEOUS driving)
Leg 4A: Medford - Seattle (OMFG why can't I pump my own gas in Oregon?! :twilightangry2:)

Some areas had gorgeous driving conditions, which our Charger was more than happy to take advantage of as we wound our way up, down, and around the hilly terrains. And although Twilight (yes, our cars have pony names) is packing 485 alicorn sized HP, she delivered 23.5MPG across the whole trip. Not bad at all for that big of a motor! :D

We didn't have time for a ton of photos along the way, but we did make a quick detour to snap some pics at the Continental Divide!

Anyway, we're here safe and sound. As it turns out, a few days after we passed through, the CA/OR mountain pass and the Rockies were hit with snowstorms, so we timed it right at least, lol. Now we get back to work at our new locations tomorrow, and we begin the final sprint toward closing on our new (to us) home. Wish us luck!

Good luck, and welcome to your (temporary) home!

Good luck!

Good luck, Moff!

Hey Grand_Moff, you should join the Seattle Bronies group on "Meetup" :) it would be great to see you :pinkiehappy:

Also I hope to see you an Everfree NW (I'm a staffer at the con) :yay:

Hap

Best of luck!

Oh, I missed this earlier. Welcome to Seattle! I've never done the "long way" drive, just the shorter (ha, still pretty long) version going straight down I-90 to Illinois.

I hope everything's going well for you so far.
