Good news: I got a new PC. Everything is new excluding the GPU. So, it's AMD Ryzen 5 2600x and 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM. Once I get a new GPU (I aim at Radeon RX580), it'll be sweet. Just as a reference point, I used to have Intel Core 2 Duo e4400 and 4GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM. The old compotent that still remained with me is GTS 450. So yeah, I had an ancient system that had many, many problems.
Bad news: some of my art (thankfully, completed) and around 5k words written for stories disappeared because apparently they weren't backed up when I reinstalled Windows. It's a bummer, but I believe I can easily rewrite all that fairly quickly. It's still a bummer, though. It will serve me as a lesson to check everything at least ten times before I proceed doing whatever I'm doing. Thankfully, what was erased wasn't that much, but still enough to serve as a reminder that backups are important. Very important.
Yay for new hardware!
Ouch for the data loss. But well, yeah, let this serve as a lesson to you - redundancy of important data is important.
Yay new pc I hope on getting one in December after Christmas when everything is super cheap
