    Quick Update

It was pointed out in a comment that perhaps the old picture I included for The Change was a bit misleading. It was a picture of Pinkie Pie, Marble, and Big Mac in a cute little hug. Terribly sorry for the confusion to anyone. It was never my intention to mislead readers into a story by using an unassociated picture. I can see how this could be seen as a bait-and-switch, considering that

    The Change

I just published The Change, and I hope that everyone enjoys it! To say that it's a departure from Sunday would be a massive understatement. Sunday is much shorter and framed more like some kind of poem/story hybrid that, in retrospect, probably could have been a lot better in the long run. I love it for what it is, but when compared to similar works, the cracks are showing.

Overall, it kind of adds to the theme of being a bit of a mess and non-linear, so that's a positive take away.

The Change was my attempt to make something that was more structured. I wanted to tell an actual story that was more akin to the fics I read and enjoy. I really dusted off my knowledge of story telling elements and tried to include meaning (read as 'Pretentious Symbolism') behind colors, numbers, and time. Speaking of, setting the entirety of The Change in one evening was something I struggled with. On one hand, it would make a bit more sense to lengthen the pacing of the relationship that unfolds, but I also wanted to keep a certain intensity that was found in one night... like a ticking-clock element. I'm sorry if it seems like too much is going on in a short period of time, but for my own part I can say that I have had nights like this. I also know it's dialog heavy, which is not everybody's preference in storytelling. In this case, I wanted to make a very simple story with a bigger message, and making it small and personal was how I knew how to approach that.

At the end of the day, The Change is meant to be fun and cute, and I hope that it comes across. I really do hope that everyone gets something out of it. If I do another blog post, it will most likely be in regards to the next story that I post. Thank you all, and keep being beautiful!
