October, and a non-pony story · 12:13am Oct 19th, 2018
I haven't really been doing much pony-related writing lately - as in, none - but I did write this magical-horse-related horror story. It takes place in my Faballar setting, which I'm working the kinks out of still and setting up to be something... well, MLP-like, but ultimately completely my own thing. I've got a lot of ideas for it, so it's just a matter of finding time to get moving on it. This bit was mostly an experiment in atmosphere, and writing something different from my usual fare.
In other news, it's October, so it's very hectic. For those who don't know I sort of accidentally became a horse trainer, due to the fact I'm reckless and indestructible and they like watching me fly off angry horses. If you're in the Wisconsin/Illinois area we actually have several horses up for sale right now, one at the start of his training and two who are much further along, and I can always hook interested parties up.
Tomorrow is Vet Day, though, so we've got like sixty horses to poke with needles and stuff. Following that is the fall get-together, where all the kids and their horses dress up in costumes and then we play a bunch of riding games that I always lose immediately.
I have an idea for a shorter-than-usual, fun story, so if time allows, I'm probably going to try and get to work on that by the end of the month. It's always nice to come back to ponies for a bit. It gives my brain a break.
