Sad: A friend of 2 Decades now has totally delusional thinking.

I have a friend. I have known her for 2 decades. She always had fussy thinking. I tried to teach her skepticism, but she always refused because she did not want to lose the magic in the world. She now believes that the Illuminati who are lizard-people run the world but Trump will save us.

I cannot know a counterfactual, but if schools would teach critical thinking and skepticism, she might have used critical thinking and skepticism for staying grounded in reality and rejecting illusions. It certainly could not have hurt.

You know, I'm reading this and my concern is about what your friend's age is. Cause... that sort of 'magical thinking' can be indicative of schizotypal personality disorder, which... is usually prodromal schizophrenia before someone has their first psychotic break. Depending on their age...

It is impolite to ask, so I do not know her exact age, but I would say around 60. The funny thing is that she knows mine exact age because she insisted on doing an horoscope of me. I explained to her that astrology violates physics, but certainly we do not know everything, so we did studies which concluded that astrology does not work, but she refused to listen. If only we could have taught her critical thinkg as a child, she could ignore her delusions.
