I was only 10 when I watched an older cousin play through Resident Evil 2 in 1998. It cemented my interest in the franchise at a relatively young age.
My mom's insistence on making me wait until 17 to play M-rated horror games (Halo and Turok were the exceptions) luckily gave Capcom the time to release REmake, months before I had a GameCube controller in my hands. It was an agonizing wait, but worth it.
And now, I'm ready to wait again.
My dear husband has expressed interest in watching me play through RE2 when it releases in January, because he doesn't have the nads to play himself. But he works both jobs on Fridays, so come January 25th, I'm going to pick it up and... Not play on launch day, instead waiting until Saturday and Sunday.
If he can watch me play like I watched my cousin play 20 years ago, that'll be all kinds of awesome.

I'd be really interesting in hearing the duo of a Resident Evil veteran, and a guy too nervous to even play it himself.
I've never actually played any Resident games, or even watched playthroughs of the earliest games. I've just always heard how it was such a huge influence on medium of videogames, the genre of horror, and a lot of people's nostalgia. Heck, my first exposure to the franchise was the first two Paul Anderson movies. My interest in this title has been piqued entirely as a by product of following your blog postings.

Oh lord, my condolences if that was your introduction to the franchise. Fans generally view the Anderson films with disdain.
