    Lordy, how time flies!

It has reached the real life date during which the beginning of MLP EG Forever takes place. It seems like not that long ago I started writing it, thinking this timeline was a long way off, yet here we are.

Mandatory Megadeth #5 · 11:02pm Oct 4th, 2018

Note: in a cheap move to generate views, I’ve added a sexy picture to this blog. Just being honest.

Anyway...

Sweating Bullets

This is one of those ‘love it or hate it’ songs. Some people like the craziness of it, and others cringe at the vocals. I’ve personally seen both reactions from first time listeners. Normally, if I were to introduce Megadeth to someone who’s never heard them before, this isn’t the song I’d start with—but it does have some cool parts in it.

Oh, and I promised some other shit, so here.

I've loved Sweating Bullets since the first time I heard it. It's such a unique track. Few people besides Dave would have the manic charisma to pull that off!

I have no comment on the other thing.

(...uh, hey man, that's pretty... yeah man... who did that?) :derpytongue2:

It’s a fun track for sure, but was always a ‘middle of the road’ one for me.

Even though that sexy picture thing was supposed to be a joke, I admit I’m pretty intrigued as to whether or not it will work. I didn’t think to check who did the artwork; I just went through Google images and posted the first good one I found—though I have seen that one before, and the lord said it was good.

The idea stemmed from the dismal view count from last week: the first 4 days = 4 views. No love for Cliff. Very sad. :ajsleepy: (I used to play bass once upon a time, so he holds a special place for me—as well as ‘Orion’ in particular.)

I regret not saying anything for your Cliff post. The man was talented and taken much too soon. My last little bit has been disorganized as I’ve been getting ready for some really big story work that’s gonna start any day now. Got a Pony novel that’s gonna drop before year end, and it’s heading in for its final approach. :rainbowdetermined2:

No worries.

But yeah, the dude was writing stuff like ‘Orion’ at 24 years old... I mean, it’s insane how in tune with music he was. It’s easy to tell that song was masterminded by a bass player. :moustache:

How big of a pony novel are we talking?

It's ~97k words. Not overly long as novels go, but it's been a hell of a 3 years getting to this point!

It’s a hell of a lotta work, man. If I knew how much time it takes to write properly, I don’t know if I would have started mine. It’s a huge time commitment! I guess I’m glad I did, though; some people have enjoyed it, and I probably wouldn’t be here right now chatting with a fellow metalhead.

I dig the community. I'm pretty sure if I ever get hold of a time machine, though, I'mma go back to the day when I started this novel and give myself a good smack with a rolled-up newspaper.

"Do you want to spend 3 years of torment working on this 'great idea' you just had? Because this is how you spend 3 years of torment working on this stupid idea you just had!"

I assume you’re publishing the whole thing at once? Shit, I dunno if I could handle doing it that way. I tend to watch my comments section for ideas or things that make me notice future mistakes/plot holes, so long as it doesn’t cause me to deviate too much from the planned narrative. I also, I just don’t have the patience to finish the whole thing before publishing it.

I hope it goes well for you!

It's not quite dropping all at once; probably more like a chapter a day, and eventually slowing down to every other day. But yeah.

In the beginning I thought it was helpful to get ongoing suggestions from people, but at least for me I found over time that my narrative wandered too much since I didn't have it all laid out. I have a lot of respect for people who can work that way, but I learned that I'm not one of them!

Me personally, I prefer to frame it as: “they save me from myself.” :twilightsheepish:
