My True Paranormal Experiences: Thunderbird Sightings

Over the past couple of years I have sighted a few giant birds which are at least the size of an economy sized airplane. I have spotted a grey bird, a white bird, and a black bird, all of similar sizes and weights.

The place I live in Arizona is filled with legends of the Thunderbird, a bird that influences the weather. It is interesting how the birds I have seen fit the description of the Thunderbird and have even been sighted flying towards the San Francisco Peaks at the beginning or very end of a storm.

To be honest, I have no idea what these birds are or if they can really do anything to influence the weather. But I know that I am not the only person who has seen them.

My mom has claimed to see the white and grey birds on several occasions when walking on trail systems up in Flagstaff. Another one of my close friends Melvin has also seen a few of the birds flying while hiking in Sedona.

I also don’t think they are some kind of flying dinosaur left over from the past like some people have suggested. I was close enough to the black bird to see that it had the complete appearance of a large bird-of-prey, with feathers and everything. These birds look very similar to hawks, but are a little sleeker in their overall design and have longer beaks.

Although many people have claimed to see these Thunderbirds, very few people have been confident to speak about their sightings on their own so I just thought I would mention my own personal experiences with these birds to reassure other people who have seen them that they aren’t crazy.

I hope everyone can get a chance to see these birds. They are amazing, majestic, and hold a lot of mystery. Maybe one day science will have an answer to what they are but for now they will remain the topic of local campfire tales and the stuff of local legends.

Well... Technically, birds are the closest things to dinosaurs these days.

4936973 This is true, and many species of dinosaurs did have feathers. But these particular birds don't look like a dinosaur.

I suppose they could possibly be a prehistoric bird (many prehistoric birds were quite large).

But the birds definitely look more like hawks or falcons than a dinosaur.

4936983 A lot of people have seen these giant birds here in Arizona. I've talked to a lot of people who have seen them in one part of the State or the other.

If one is officially found and recognized by the scientific community it would be very cool indeed. :)

Is it weird that I kind of want one as a pet? :P

i want to be able to see one

4937051 I hope you will be able to see one too, my friend. They are really cool.

I still want one as a pet. XD

4937053
one day I hope.

What would they even eat?

4937073 That's a good question. They are pretty big. But then again, whales are big and the eat some of the smallest creatures in the ocean. So who knows.

4937075
Only one way we could find out

Me and my cousin saw something like it too. It scared the crap out of me back then

4937103 True. We would have to find one and study what it eats.

4937179 Was it also a giant bird? And where did you guys see it? It is good to know other people have seen them as well. :)

4937269
That sounds like it would be fun

4937271
We found it while hiking through the woods. Yes, it was a giant bird, about the height I was at the time.

4937279 It would indeed. XD

4937281 Oh wow! The ones I saw were very large, like the size of a small plane. Maybe the one you saw was a similar species but a little smaller?

In any case, that's pretty cool. :)

4937291 Then we could domesticate them and ride on their backs. XD

I first knew of the name Thundebird from a game.

4937345 Neat! What game did you hear about them in?

4937502
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. There's a boss that is called Thunderbird.

4937557 Oh hey you are right! I've played all of the Zelda games. They are all a lot of fun. :)

4937819 I am doing pretty good, thank you. How are things going with you?

4937987
good to hear, and things are going good on my end :3

4938047 I am happy to hear it, my friend. XD

4938137 You are very welcome. :)
