Glitter Force · 2:57am Aug 29th, 2018

Now many people know that Sailor Moon was the source of inspiration for many shows that came after it. One recent discovery of mine (Thanks to my youngest sister Julianna) was a show called Glitter Force. It's basically Sailor Moon reskinned. Not saying it's bad, I actually enjoy it. But it's like... SO SIMILAR.

I'm gonna list the similarities here...

We open with a young schoolgirl (Serena/Emily)
She's kinda clumsy but has a positive attitude
She discovers her destiny to fight evil after a talking animal reveals it to her (Luna/Candy)
The main villain has four minions, and each one can summon its own minions (Queen Beryl/Emperor Nogo)
The hero team consists of five magical girls (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus/Lucky, Sunny, Peace, Spring, Breeze)
There is a queen named after a state of extreme happiness (Serenity/Euphoria)
The five girls discover, at the end of the first season, that they are all princesses
The girls learn new magical abilities
The villains harvest energy from humans

There are many more similarities as well. I'd recommend it to any Sailor Moon fan. Or anyone in general. It only has two seasons, each with 20 episodes. It's on Netflix... apparently there's another show called Glitter Force Doki Doki, which, according to my sister, involves the second generation of the Glitter Force.

I actually saw the series with my little sister. It was pretty good.

Cool. I'm still in the middle of season 2. And after that I'll watch Glitter Force Doki Doki and see what the second generation is like.

Doki Doki was kinda cheesy but it did fix a lot of things wrong in the original while upscaling the animation. My main problem with both incarnations is the annoying filtering on the brightness when things got intense. I think it might have been an attempt to prevent seizures but it was so noticeable that it kinda would ruin what was going on screenwise.

Interesting for you to mention that since Miraculous also covers at least five of those mentioned (possibly six if you include the fact that extra Miraculous holders started appearing in season 2). Secondly, I'm in an animated TV show?!

Lol you're also a girl.

4927921 Usually I'd take offense to that, but alternate universe and all. Who's to say there ISN'T an alternate universe where I was born female instead of male?
