Information on Doctor Who S11 · 12:53pm Jul 20th, 2018
I don't think any of this information is going to be at all spoilery for anything of any importance, but so you know, this post consists of information about Whittaker's upcoming series of Doctor Who, provided by the actors and Chris Chibnall. If you don't want to know anything about it, don't read this post.
Okay, are they all gone? Good. Everyone else, let's go.
The companions are named Yasmin Khan, Ryan Sinclair, and Graham O'Brien. Sharon D. Clarke will be playing Graham's wife.
Yasmin is to be 19, same age as Rose Tyler.
Graham, according to Whittaker, is a character who wants every scene to involve a sandwich and a chair. Which means he's not really an action type, I guess? Don't know. But it sounds intensely relatable.
They're really being secretive about all this; Mandip Gill didn't even know what role she was auditioning for.
There will be no Daleks.
There will be no two-parter episodes.
Whittaker is taking cues from Matt Smith's Doctor, and is to be very energetic, friendly, and cheerful.
They're going to be trying out some pure historicals again! Fans of 'The Aztecs', 'The Romans', 'The Highlanders', etc. rejoice!
There will be no Daleks!
In addition to a new Doctor, new companions, new showrunner, there's also a new composer. Murray Gold has stepped down. The new composer is named Segun Akinola, and he seems very good at his job.
There are to be only ten episodes, but they'll be an hour apiece.
WE GET A WHOLE SERIES WITH NO DALEKS AT ALL, AT LAST.
That's all I've been able to find on the Internet. As I said, Chibnall and everyone on the cast and crew are being very secretive. But even with these little nuggets of information, I'm already confident that I'm going to love this new series and this new Doctor.
