Equestrian City - A Question · 8:37pm Jul 15th, 2018

So recently it was suggested by a member of that pool of expert writers (I mentioned them a bit ago) that my labeling of Alternative Universe is incorrect.

They cited https://www.fimfiction.net/tag-information#au

I'd like to hear if anyone else thinks this is valid and or if I'm misrepresenting myself?

AU still applies to EC. The number one rule of parallel worlds is "everything is possible".

Look at the alt futures from S5, they took 1 event out of history and gave 3-5 different "possible" futures. You did the exact same thing by the choice Sunset made in EG2.

AU applies because even tho one detail changes, it changes the entire dimension to a future that never happened in the canon EG. There fore, alternate universe.

Twilight coming to Ponyville never happened? Nightmare Moon wins, alternate universe. Moon Dancer going in her place? Alternate universe even tho Moon Dancer switching with Twi is the only change made.

Lord Voldemort choosing Neville over Harry? Same exact story but still an alternate course of events. One change as tiny as a pin needle still grants the alternate universe because it's a world where that tiny needle either fell or was thrown.

Alternate universes do not have to be large. Look at the Mandela Effect! No, seriously look as it involves every little detail out there. Name of cereal different than you remember? BAM you're in another universe bubby.

Bearstain Bears has an E instead of an A? BAM welcome to the E universe my friend! You can get the idea. X3

1 change = alternate universes no matter how you look at it.

You changed the outcome of a major event, the battle of the bands, and made a large break in canon because of that. Your change was technically pre-story, so by that, it is correct in having an AU tag.
