As I was writing a fimfic about Rainbow Dash, I completely forgot about a particular pony in her life. This character is somepony I really wish Hasbro shined more light on.
Rainbow Blaze was introduced in season three of the series as Rainbow Dash's mentor, but he never played a huge part; even as a background pony. I don't read the comic books or anything, so I am unsure if there was more to him than I had realized.
Despite the little information we have, I would like to share an idea that I have about him.
We know that he is Rainbow Dash's mentor and he has quoted, "Of course Rainbow Dash is a good flier. I taught her everything she knows!" At least that was what was written on an MLP playing card.
Also, for a moment, let us compare how much resemblance Rainbow Dash shares with her mom.
Their coat color is more or less the same cyan color. Also, their eye colors are also the same.
Now let us look at Rainbow Dash's father, Bow Hothoof.
When you compare him and Rainbow Blaze, they both share the same coat color as well. Plus, they both share the same eye color and the signature rainbow mane. Throughout the series, as far as I know, there are not that many rainbow maned ponies and these ponies are the only ones I have seen.
To add one more feature, Rainbow Dash's mane style is very similar to her mentor's.
Where am I going with this? Is it possible that Rainbow Blaze is Rainbow Dash's older brother?
I have rewatched the episodes that the parents and Rainbow Blaze made an appearance in, but unfortunately I could not make many connections to them as Hasbro isn't exactly Scott Cawthon of MLP.
I have other thoughts, but I wouldn't really call them proof so I would just keep them to myself.
If anybody is interested in this, I would like you all to share your thoughts. What do you all think of Rainbow Blaze?

Lives a few clouds over, sees Dash every day. Helps her learn to fly. Is proud of her.
I'd say he's either a cousin or an uncle, but older brother could work. Maybe the purple coat comes naturally to Bo's side of the family? I don't know and I don't want to go into over analysis mode

You know what though, I should rewrite that. As far as I know, that was his first appearance with Rainbow Dash. However, him being her mentor was confirmed on the card and not the episode itself.
