This site needs a Share Button. · 11:56am Jun 20th, 2018

And a Share Button for this site, not facebook/twitter/whatever.

Just imagine a Share Button, which, when clicked, will automatically give your followers the following notification:

[name of user] just shared [name of fanfic].

Sure, it might seem unnecessary since you can just blog about a fic you liked, but that takes longer, which is why so few people do it. Plus, it'd be weird if someone made 11 blogs in one day, each saying "This fanfic rules!". A share button would make advertising a fanfic so easy, even a normie could click it.

Just imagine it, a share button right next to the Tracking button. Something you can just easily click and be done with it.

But to prevent spam, it stays clicked once you click it until the end of the day and you can only share a fic once per day. And if that sounds like a pointless restriction since you can always just unfollow spammers, boom, you just admitted there are no downsides to the On-Site Share Button.

People on this site just don't share fics enough. But if you put a button there to make it clearer that readers should also share fics, boom, it's a new novel concept and people do it, and life gets better for writers. No more overblown egos in dedicated circlejerk group where disconnected writers pretend they're each the greatest writers in their own closed bubbles. Now the site's an interconnected thing where the free market decides quality and popularity, not bandwagoning and "I got my fic read by someone who bothers to blog about fics he likes, yay!"ing. Suddenly, the share button means people who like your work share your work with others, and your reader base naturally and organically grows on its own.

Thanks! Groups encourage egos and circlejerking, blogs to advertise stories work nice but take too long to write for most normies to bother with, and the featured box is nice, but it isn't big enough and it doesn't have little buttons on it you can click that get it to only display Featured Fics in a certain genre.

This fills the final remaining niche and is so easy, anyone can do it!

You’re welcome

I agree it makes things so much easier.
