One of the few films I missed in the holiday season of last year due to my Major Review and Semester Finals, I had a feeling this was going to be bad whenever I saw the trailer in theaters. And now with it released on Netflix along with Thor: Ragnarok, I have the opportunity to watch this without having to spend 10-15 dollars on a ticket.
Yeah, it's just as bad as I figured. Animat points this out himself that if this focused on Joseph and Mary instead of the animal characters, it would have done better (as a film with some cooperation from the Jim Henson Company themselves, a better example would be Muppet Treasure Island). I do have to give Steven Yeun credit for sounding a lot like Elijah Wood.
Don't know if anyone saw it in theaters, but if you haven't, I'd give this one a pass.
