Took a few days off to not want to die. Cause ten thousand words in a few days is physically draining.
2300 words into the next chapter. Probably going to be a shorter one due to the chapter being set the same day due to just that it felt right. Like the chapter ended quick and yet it felt like there was a bit more to tell but just not in that chapter.
Almost 11k can do that. I knew the end point of Starlight immediately when I started writing her. And no that's not saying she's going to die soon, far from it, I just know a few scenes in the far future with her.
What I didn't fully expect was Diamond Dogs.
Whole lot of Diamond Dogs. Diamond Dog run mine. With a kingdom of dogs. Why I keep coming back to weird stuff like that I have no idea but then I used the Alicorn Amulet as a heart for a dying character. I think by that point I've completely wrecked canon. Well okay, more like welded disparate parts of canon into a Frankenstein's Monster amalgam, but like that artifact got dropped hard after it's like one appearance and I wondered why.
Sometimes I come up with weird ideas like that.
And the tone continues to be that weird jokey sad mix I keep writing. I don't know how well the Diamond Dog dialogue will go down but for some reason I'm writing them if they were somewhat knowledgeable in basic Equestrian. Cause they are a completely different race of beings, they don't really get the language perfectly. Dog sounds? They know super well. Actual wordy dialogue? Less common. For some reason in my head they sound Russian instead of their honestly not great canon voices. I love the Diamond Dogs- partially due to the David Bowie reference- but I never really liked their portrayal in canon. I don't know what the show did to their voices but they always sounded too grating.
So why not Diamond Dog society chapter? Need something sort of light hearted at points cause for some reason I write any chapter with Starlight either dark and uncaring there and lighter in the other sections.
Probably just so I don't want to physically die cause I've seen that weird mix more after the Canterlot ending chapter which about made me cancel the story due to just how bad timed the story and life stuff was going. Got past that and things are okay again. I know the end of the Ironhoof chapters and I just want to get to that right now. It might take a while.
Bad time. But also now it's a better time in the last few months. So happier chapters? Sort of? Let's hold off on calling this story really happy cause while it is mainly a romance and a drama, it can be kind of a bummer.
Eh, Diamond Dogs. Be ready for those.
And hey at least I like dogs and have one, so I know at least how they should act and move. Though now I'm wondering why there's both Diamond Dogs and actual dogs in canon. That sounds like that "if Pluto is a dog, then what is Goofy?" arguments over Disney stuff.

I can do crazy. I got no problems with goin off canon as I dont like season 8 (only season I can realy say that about).
Your pumping out words faster than I, so its cool. Dminond dogs are ok. If they are upa agsinst rariity though, they gonna loose...

I'll watch season 8 once its done because unlike season 7 where I had a few episodes that sounded interesting (while there also being stuff I was bored with) season 8 just isn't interesting me all that much besides maybe a few. Really have to see what the season finale is cause that usually is what hooks me now.
The diamond dog thing isn't going to be super huge in the overall story in the grand scheme of things but I just wanted to give them a culture beyond them kidnapping ponies and enslaving them to work in mines. Like that always bugged me. And it's not like I'm forgetting that happened in canon. Still working with canon, just continuing to find ways to make the diamond dogs less completely one note in the show.
