The Elements of Chaos: Chapter 6 - Possibly Important information. · 5:06pm May 5th, 2018
Hello, everypony! Nitro here!
The Elements of Chaos has been somewhat enjoyed and has been added to someone's favorites list. I'm happy for that. Next chapter is somewhat special.
I've been watching Man At Arms: Reforged on the AWE me channel on YouTube. I've learned a lot from those videos. So, the next chapter is gonna be including specific details on weapons. And here's a crash course on the details.
Damascus Steel - Multiple steels obtained and refined near the Middle East, and coiled. It has a high-carbon quantity, and has a very distinct design in the steel when treated properly.
Pommel - The end cap, or counter-balance, of the sword. The piece at the end of the handle, that may have special designs.
Handle - The part where you grip. It may have leather surrounding it.
Hand Guard - The piece protecting the user from the sword itself. This piece is between the handle and the sword, and is put into place inside of the shoulders and lets the tang go through.
Shoulders - the section of the sword near the bottom. They are the same width as the blade itself (generally), but aren't beveled.
Tang - When crafting a sword, you create a Tang. This is a long piece of the material (steel, titanium, copper, whatever material the sword is made of), and is placed into the handle. It's generally less wide compared to the sword, so it'll fit inside of the handle.
Bevel - The edge of the sword that is generally meant to be grinded to a sharp point.
There you go. Some sword information. Go and watch MAA:Reforged if you need more information. This is not needed to understand the story, but it'll help quite a bit. Hope you enjoyed!
