I just counted up all the EG shorts from the current series that I outlined in my previous blog post. Since "Forgotten Friendship" counts as 5 episodes, that gives us 41 total episodes of the new series over all.
If I recall correctly, Hasbro's original press release about the new EG series stated the first season had 46 episodes total. And the only thing we haven't seen yet on either platform is "Me, My Selfie, and I," which we know is going to be another 5-part story coming later this year. So yeah, between YouTube and Discover Family Go, we've seen just about everything for this season.
So what about the animatics that were leaked along with the unfinished second part of "Me, My Selfie, and I?" Going back and looking at the info that appears at the beginning, every episode number starts with a 2. If you know anything about TV production numbers, each episode usually has a three digit code. The first number is the season the episode belongs to, while the other two digits are the number of the episode within that season.
So yeah, looks like the leaked animatics are for episodes we'll see in Season 2. (Which of course means that the timeline I just worked on, as well as my overall EG timeline is probably about to get horribly fucked up. Oh well.)

From what I remember they said the plan was for 45+ shorts, which I take to mean that they planned for at least 45 with a possibility for more.
