Background: Quickfire hails from a future where Midnight Sparkle defeated and killed Celestia and Luna, he was her former captain of the guard, since she still had a soft spot for him. She even kept Cadence alive for him, but she was reduced to nothing more than another of Midnight's Magic Slaves, no will left to her. Shining Armor was also his sisters executioner, killing anypony who defied her order. Eventually, Shining Armor had enough and began to search for a way to prevent this future from happening, even if it meant being unable to go back...
Time Travel: Shining Armor, for better or worse, found a solution in the form of his arch enemy, the Shadow King Sombra. He was going to launch as attack on Midnight Sparkle, not out of malicious intent, but because she was worse than him, He offered to send Shining back in time in order to kill Midnight Sparkle and prevent her rise to power, this meant killing Twilight as well. Realizing that the ponies of the future he came from would finally be safe, Shining Armor agreed and King Sombra outfitted him with the armor of his chief assassin, and injected him with his own healing factor. Soon, the dreaded Quickfire, who Shining also took the name as a disguise, was reborn.
Only one went back...: Midnight found out the plan to send Quickfire back and struck at King Sombra while he was preparing the Time Portal, Shining Armor ended up losing an eye, but got back to the past safely. Sombra tried to hold off Midnight, and he did, but at the cost of his own life.
Quickfire for Hire: in order to keep his guise of an assassin alive, Quickfire began to sell out his services to powerful leaders of rebellions. He killed dictators, genocidal maniacs, and anypony else that threatened the world and got him a good paycheck. Eventually he became friends with a young Burning Star, and became one of the Masters of Nature, The Master of Life. When he ran into Shining Armor and Shadow Armor atop Mt. Gallop and heard of Burning Star's meltdown, he joined up to help. He knew that Twilight would be close by, his mission was nearing completion...
Dark Revelations: When he met Twilight for the first time, he instinctively Attacked her. The pair fought for a while before Twilight knocked his mask off, revealing his face. Twilight Sparkle took it unusually well... then Quickfire went after Sombra after hearing Twilight had been looking at Sombra's journals. It was a trap, and Sombra was disguised as Twilight, with the real one out in the badlands alone... Quickfire now understood the series of events that led to the rise of Midnight Sparkle, and began preparing for his battle with her.
Twilight, Not Midnight: When Twilight returned from the Badlands, Quickfire was waiting for her, and launched his attack on the real Twilight. Eventually, the pair stopped fighting and investigated into Twilight's mind, seeing Midnight for the first time, Quickfire now decided that he would do everything in his power to prevent Midnight's plan of corrupting Twilight from coming to fruition, and became a bodyguard alongside Shining Armor and Shadow Armor.
Powers: Quickfire is the greatest fighter in the entire world, possessing knowledge of every fighting style known and unknown to ponykind. He is equipped with a Magic Katana for his average foe, and a giant Claymore for big targets. He also uses a variety of explosive and pyrotechnic weapons from his future, such as Flashbangs, Frag Grenades, Smoke Bombs, and Plastic Explosives. He also uses twin crossbows that fire out a variety of arrows that could be enchanted with either Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Cosmic Magic. He wears a specialized suit of combat armor that bolsters his strength and endurance, and is highly resistant to magic, and if he even is wounded, His healing factor can repair wounds he got. His mask comes equipped with Night Vision, Infrared and Ultraviolet scanners, and a voice distorter to mask his voice. Despite having one eye, he never misses his shots.
