There is a piece of news that has hit the Internet, it has sent shockwaves across the industry and everything has changed now. People have left their jobs, men have been brought to tears.
Almost everyone knows how this goes on: "Not So Awesome", sexual harassment, complains, losing subs, "we sincerely regret you felt that way", Michaud owning the character, Doug retires from the company.
Because of this, I'm going to skip the drama since many people have covered this topic much better than me, however I think this is important because it shows a moral that many of us already know: power corrupts people and, like I said when ToonKriticY2K got his correspondant hate, victims tend to shut up for no understandable reason.
I've heard that hispanic Youtube is worse than anglo-saxon Youtube, but the point is that this shows that it doesn't matter what part of the world you want to see youtube, in the end everything is the same controversial and polemic doesn't stop. I hope and this ends in the best way because many people are involved admire them
It's unclear how Channel Awesome will progress from here. With prominent staples of the site such as Linkara and Film Brain having opted to no longer work with the company following these allegations, it seems that its response has served to further alienate its audience.I just read the Google Doc. Man, the fact that there were MANY accounts from most of the old members, it shows it was a big problem. The more I think about it, I might have heard a few of these complaints in the past, but I never took them as serious as now. It’s sad because I enjoyed all the work they have done. I still remember killing time at college watching videos at Channel Awesome (TGWTG back then)
We don't know for sure if Doug has actually leave Channel Awesome (and we won't know until he speaks or until next Tuesday [day when I will update this post]), but considering how big a fan I was before all this, you'd think I'd be at least a bit sad... Or that I'd feel something similar at least.
EDIT APRIL 25th: It happened what you think would happen: AB-SO-LU-TE-LY FU-CKING NO-THING! I know many of you want an apology, but I think it needs to be said that Doug, Rob, Tamara, Malcolm and the rest of the NC crew really do their best. They are in the middle of huge controversy and they still put on a show for us, because they care about their fan base and don't want to disappoint. I may not agree with things channel awesome has done, but I will always stand by the Critic, because of him I have something to look forward to every week... or at least until the ship finally sink into the sea. I hope you can get through this. your entire community and i are counting on you.
If anything, I'm actually happy, after what they've done... Is it bad that I think they deserved this? But what do you think?
If Doug creates a new channel I will probably watch it. I have many mixed feelings. Some accusations were terrible. some were based more on ignorance than any real malice. a lot were terrible decisions based of what it seemed like they didn't know what the hell they were doing. I can only hope that Doug can pull his act together from this.

I can agree with you some of it did seem a little whiny. And some of it did feel they they were jumping on the bandwagon to get subscribers.
