Hello everyone, I'm here to write down the profile of my portrayal of King Sombra... so read up on this to gain a little more knowledge of "Burning Star Saga". So here he is, The Shadow King, Sombra!

King Sombra, The Shadow King
Full Title: King-Emperor Arbmos Sombra, The Former Ruler of the Crystal Empire, Son of Da'irko, first King of Equestria.
Real Name: Arbmos "Sombra" Da'irko
Age: Unknown, but appears to be in his late 40s
Ht: 6' 02" (Approximately 300 feet while in Shadow Form)

Background: Anypony that is well enough with history knows who King Sombra is, was, and will be. Formerly the ruler of Crystal Empire and Castle Nevermore, King Sombra's very name is synonymous with Fear and his very presence can drive ponies insane form terror.... but there is a reason he is like this, and it took place thousands of years ago...
A King is Born: Born as a simple unicorn, Sombra's name at birth was Arbmos, after a pitch black crystal-like material found in the old days before Celestia and Luna arrived. The Young king's parents were King Da'irko, the first king of Equestria, while his mother was not clearly known. The child Arbmos was a cousin to the adolescent Prince Eclipsio, who was favored over Arbmos because of his powers over Space-time, and thus sibling rivalry insued. Despite their outward distaste in each other, Armbos and Eclipsio were good friends, and protected each other when they were threatened by their now mad king of a father. During one of his little rampages, he killed their mothers... sending a Desire to make his father pay into the young unicorn's brain. When the sisters arrived, things only got worse.
Rising Shadows: King Da'irko, desperate to stay in power, declared war upon the sisters. Seeing no other choice for the safety of the world, Prince Arbmos struck a bargain with a young Celestia and Luna, who were convinced that merging everything under their banner would bring peace, so secretly sent Eclipsio to live with them, to spare him the pain of what happened next. In an attempt to end the conflict, Arbmos, now calling himself Sombra... began his training in Dark Magic, honing his skills and crafting his famous set of armor and creating his famous black war scythe that would be his tool in bringing about the end of his fathers madness. Sombra emerged from hiding nearly 6 years later, at the age of 18, just on the cusp of adolescence. He led a personal invasion of his fathers palace and challenged the Mad King of Equestria to a duel. After a battle that would shake the very heavens with its power, Sombra plunged his own horn into his father, killing him, when he pulled it out, it was still there, but curved and turned red. With the king now dead and the war over, the sisters granted Sombra his rule over the Crystal Empire... as long as he swore fealty to them.
The Shadow King: Of course, being the cunning pony he was, Sombra agreed, but on the condition that the Crystal Empire would bow to him, not them. Before the sisters could refuse, King Sombra sent them away from the Crystal Empire and began to build his own army in secret, so eventually he could bring the sisters down. He adopted a infant Alicorn called Dawn Star as his son, intending to leave a legacy behind one way or another.
He studied more into magic, becoming a master of Dark Magic powerful enough to rival the sisters. He did know that Celestia and Luna had been planning to take his kingdom when they could no longer tolerate somepony who refused to kneel before them. Sombra knew that he didn't have much time, so he enslaved the crystal ponies and stole away the sacred Crystal Heart, before sealing himself in his castle, ready for the sisters to arrive. All the while, he silently led his troops into battle, managing to kill the Star Alicorn Princess Astaris, earning the wrath of the sisters... which was exactly what he wanted.
The War for the Crystal Empire: Celestia and Luna, in full armor, charged headlong into his castle. King Sombra knew he would not be able to defeat them in the short game... so he cast a curse on the empire that tied it to him. If he were to fall, the empire would vanish with him. Before he was to face them in battle, Sombra sent his infant son into hibernation alongside him... he would be his heir. Donning his armor and weilding his War Scythe, Sombra fought the two Alicorns... and lost, dragging the empire into shadows with him.
Return: when the Crystal Empire reappeared, Sombra did as well... but 1,000 years sealed in ice had driven him mad and he had lost his memory. In the end, he was shattered by the Crystal Heart...
Return, Take 2: Sombra's body was destroyed by the Crystal Heart, but his horn remained, and he returned with his sanity thankfully, intact again. Knowing that he would not be able to win the short game again... not with the sisters in power... He needed a powerhouse like him.
His wish was answered when a young Burning Star had impressed the Shadow King, still unknown to the fact that this was his adopted son. After 4 years of training, the two made their way to Canterlot in secret to destroy Celestia and Luna once and for all and gain another apprentice in the form of the New Alicorn he had heard about... it backfired, and this continued his streak of missteps, Burning Star betrayed him, he believed that he was being replaced.
He was sent packing by the angry fire pony...
His clone of shining armor, Shadow Armor, left him as well...
And he unfortunately found himself again at the mercy of an Alicorn's control, this one called Daybreaker, a corrupted Celestia. Oh the irony, when Sombra took on the empire again, he was freed by his former student, only to die by Daybreaker.
Return, Take 3: Sombra was a hard pony to keep down, as he returned during the "Windigo War" to help cure Burning Star of his overloading powers. He secretly intended to bring Twilight to his side, since Diamanda was a good goal to fight against... while he worked his dark magic lessons slowly into Twilight's mind. His tampering, as well as many other factors, created the destructive Midnight Sparkle, and he had to stop her.
Reconciliation: King Sombra needed to end the madness, so he participated in the clash in Canterlot. He was the one to strike Midnight, only to be stabbed by her horn in return. When Midnight was sucked into a portal, Sombra secretly slipped away... and went north to, hoping to find peace with the war over... he became a teacher of Dark Magic Defense in the Crystal Empire under his fabricated name, K. Arbmos, swearing off his evil ways. Now, he may be drawn back into war yet again, to finally stop Midnight once and for all...
Powers: King Sombra is a master of both Light and Dark Magic, having access to some of the most powerful and ancient spell a Unicorn can learn. He is also partly a Demon, since his mother was a demon pony from Tartarus, with his power rivaling that of an Alicorn. Sombra's dark powers allow him to do many incredible things. Some examples include his nearly indestructible Shadow Form, creating of magic nullifying crystals for his enemies and/or magic crystals in general to enhance his abilities, invisibility, his infamous fear gaze, create magic constructs of weapons and even life forms, and the ability to create illusions that could fool even Changelings. Who are themselves, masters of the craft.
Physically-wise, King Sombra is a paragon among ponies, possessing incredible strength, unbreakable will and determination, and durability so tough that not even death can keep him down for long. As long as his soul remains intact at least... Sombra cannot be slain by anypony. To boost his durability even further, he wears extremely strong armor that can deflect nearly any strike. Only the attack from some sort of magic weapon will pierce it. His horn itself is a weapon, being sharp as a sword. King Sombra uses a scythe known as the Scythe of Umbra. Hewn from dark crystals, cold steel, and fragments of his former horn... this thing is an extension of his own power, and can only be wielded by those who can use a high grade of dark magic or have incredible physical strength. It enhances the magic of the wielder, allowing for power that can match, perhaps surpass, a single Alicorn. Sombra is incredibly smart, being an expert in armed and unarmed combat, swordsmanship, battle strategy, magical combat, and manipulation tactics.
Weaknesses: Sombra is extremely weak to the Crystal Heart, and being directly exposed to its light would kill his body. Any light based spell of incredible power, such as Burning Star's Star Strike or The Beam of Harmony from the Elements can destroy him as well. King Sombra will ALWAYS return if his soul remains, so once you destroy his body, go after his soul (AKA the ghostly set of green eyes running away)
Sombra's own pride can make him underestimate his opponent, and he doesn't always think things through, preferring to play the long game and exhaust his opponent if he cannot defeat them directly. so, springing an ambush on him would be a great start.
Dear lord... this took forever. I hope people make it all the way through...
This is incredibly detailed, and is a lot more concise and clear than other previous explanations of Sombra in your stories. This is a welcome helpmeet.
