Is there a way besides reporting this guys blog to get him help? This is the second blog the author has done that directly implies they want to kill them selfs. This person needs help now and based off both blogs they could be civilly committed. I don't know what the admins could do but this is not a good situation and there must be something we can do besides tell him not to do it.

Honestly, I'm not sure really. This is the kind of situation we have to handle rather delicately.
Really want to say something to discourage your friend from going down that road but after I read what I wrote, I didn't post it since I was afraid it might push him over the edge.
Wish we could get a hold of your friend's family or friends IRL and get them to intervene but that's an invasion of privacy that could lead to disaster...
