14 February:

15 February:
On 15 February 1942, Singapore fell to the Japanese. On this day, Singapore celebrates it Total Defence day. On 6.20 p.m., The public warning system will be activated and a short message will appear on radio. This is done as the British forces defending Singapore in 1942 surrendered to the Japanese on 6.20 pm. This is very important to the Chinese in Singapore as it was the first day of the lunar new year that year. Sadly, there was no celebrations that happened as it marked the first day of Japanese Occupation in Singapore.
16 February:
16 February 2018 marks the first day of the lunar new year for 2018. On this day, the Chinese population would celebrate by visiting their relatives. The married couples would give children of their relatives as a sign a blessing to the child. It is a sign of gathering after a long year as most of the time, parents are busy at school and Parents are bust at work. To all who celebrates this lunar new Year, Have a happy Lunar New Year!
Sidenote: Since Singapore is a multi-racial country, It is not surprising to find other races celebrating these festive holidays. For example, Malays would give their Chinese neighbor well wishes for their new year and when it comes to the Muslim new year, The chinese neighbour would visit their muslim neighbors and give them well wishes too.
These three days are pretty close together and it makes 2018 a special year for us to remember. May all of you have a fun time celebrating in this festive season.
That is all, General Sparky out.
I hope you will Enjoy the Festivals
