Nightmare Moon has returned earlier than Celestia expected.
Eighty years earlier.
In her first action against Celestia she destroys the Elements of Harmony. Now Celestia herself must lead an army against her sister once again.
Cut to present day, Nightmare Moon has built herself a formidable army of her own and Celestia's forces are all but wiped out. In the past eighty years since this now apocalyptic war started however, necessity became the mother of invention and technology skyrocketed.
Vastly outnumbered and on the brink of defeat, Celestia recruits a genius engineer, her military minded husband, and a team of her finest Royal researchers to work on a secret project - something Celestia hopes will put an end to this war and save what remains of her little ponies.
Project NightFall. The culmination of years of research and development using the most advanced technology known to ponykind.
This is the story of what became of that project.
To many, it was a marvel of wartime technology designated as TS-001.
To her mother, she was simply Twilight Sparkle.
